And is it worth it to ride it? How many stops does it make once you've boarded?

I'm interested to know, too. I would love to have this as a nice end to our trip :wizard:

I believe there are 2 stops, not counting the stop you get on at.

15-20 minutes tops, and it makes 3 stops all together, front of the park, Frontierland, and Mickeys Toontown than back to the front. I sometimes ride ALL the way around, and can do this twice if I need the rest! :thumbsup2

The length of the ride depends on how long the stops are at the other two stations. But I'd say allow 30 minutes for the full circle tour. Don't expect to be seeing things everywhere while on the trip - there are some scenes, but there are also just some woods areas.

Is it worth it? Maybe not. What else do you have to do at the MK? Would you welcome a chance to sit for a while? Do you love trains?

it has alway perplexed me that they go to such extremes to put set pieces into all of their rides and preshows and yet on this ride which could have all kinds of villages, corrals, animals etc. they mostly have...........trees. :confused3

Yes there is, including the Burning Fort by Tom Sawyers Island. ;) Oh, and :wave2: Dan Murphy!

We love this - very relaxing, we enjoy trains and love the views. I especially enjoy the view of the town in Big Thunder Mountain.

There are two parts that my DH and I crack up with laughter.

One (which was again confirmed yesterday when we rode it) is when you're riding from ToonTown to Main Street. The voice on the recording says something about "the building on your left is Space Mountain!"...and when you look, it's the Contemporary. Hehehehee....one of the groups in front of us made a comment that it looked like a FAR walk from where we were riding! :rotfl:

Second one is my favorite. Take the train from Frontierland to ToonTown and listen to the spiel. As you're passing the indian scenes, the recording comes over the loudspeaker: "And if you listen very carefully, you might just hear Pocahontas singing in the distance!" Then it cuts to an EXTREMELY LOUD: "HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THE WOLF CRY TO THE BLUE CORN MOON??????!!!!!
:lmao: I told DH if anyone needed to listen "carefully", they'd need hearing aids!

When you are in toontown watch and see if they put water in the train while waiting for people to board. The blue and yellow water tower is really used to refill the water in the train to make the steam. If I remember correctly they do this every other time around the park.

My favorite part is going through Splash mountain.

I thought the train ride was just "okay". I nice, relaxing ride, but if you don't have time for it, you won't miss much. I'd guess it's about 20 minutes long.
We boarded at Main Street, and from there went through Adventureland, where you see nothing but.....trees and foliage. At Frontierland you get a glimpse of BMRR (I think), and also the Native American village. They also have a stop at Frontierland. Then on to the next stop, which is in Toontown. After that, back to Main Street. Not much to see on the way there either.
If you're looking for a nice, scenic ride....we much preferred the steamboat ride in Liberty Square. It's also about 20 minutes long, with a bit more to look at.

hmm..I never thought about riding it just for relaxation...relaxation at disney???whats that???

I love it. It is very relaxing. There are 3 stops and I think the entire thing takes about 10 - 15 minutes.
