How long is the line for Small World

I am sooo excited. We will be at Disneyland on Saturday through Tuesday. It is an early x-mas present for our 6 year old princess. She won't know until we are in the car driving. We haven't been since they opened Small World after the renovation. I heard it is spectacular, esp. now with the Christmas decorations. Does anyone know how long the line might be? Do they have fast pass for it? That is the one ride I want to go on. We plan on going Sunday and Monday of next week.

The line shouldn't ever get more than 30 min throughout the day. Actually, any kind of line probably won't develop until 11AM or so. Then it'll stay around 20-30 min most of the late morning through early evening. Lines should lessen as it approaches evening. But these are just educated guesses.

The good thing about IASW is that each boat holds a lot of people, and they have a lot of boats running too = high capacity ride = line that moves quickly.

They used to have FP for IASWH a long time ago, but not anymore.

No FPs ~ we visited last Mon. (12/7) it was rainy and the park was pretty quiet, we pretty much walked on mid afternoon (we also had our shortest PFF wait ~ it was our 3rd time through that line). Will you have MM on Sunday? If so go then, if not maybe consider going 1st thing Monday morning. Be sure to walk by again during the evening to see it all lit up but don't bother riding then, I bet you'd be dealing with BIG crowds.

As others said, no FP's, but I went on a weekday two weeks ago and chose to ride Small World first thing since I anticipated a longer wait because of the holiday renovation, and I literally walked right on to the ride.

We were just there (getting ready to check out of the hotel right now...) and you can easily get on the ride earlier in the day. The wait is minimal, even with a bit of a line since the ride is a real people eater. It usually takes about 5 minutes to get through the line if you get there before noon.

That said, you must go back after dark to watch the facade. It's gorgeous - like 'right up there with the castle' gorgeous. Quite a few people like to camp out near IASW to wait for the Holiday parade or to watch the fireworks later in the evening. It "snows" outside of IASW too!

I was in the Park Monday through Thursday last week & the only time I saw much of a line for it's a small world was after they'd turned on all the lights on the outside of it, a little bit after it got dark out. Otherwise, it was either walk-on/less than 10 minute wait. Don't know if that's changed as the Park tends to get more crowded toward Christmas, with it usually being less crowded on weekdays. But I'm sure you'll be able to enjoy the ride a few times when you're there!

Last night, Monday 12/15/09, it was 30-40 at 7pm.

On Sunday morning it was pretty much a walk-on, but later in the day when the sun came out and the crowd thickened, the queue stretched all the way out to the churro/popcorn carts.

We walked on first thing on 12/10, Thursday morning (a very lightly attended day, to be sure). Not just that--actually, we had our very own boat!

On Wednesday night, 12/9, when it was actually not a busy day at all, the wait was something like 40 minutes and the line extended back from the switchbacks and were routed quite a bit beyond. It appears that the ride went down for a while that night, which is probably why the line was so long while the park wasn't busy. (On Friday, we went at night and it was stated at 20 minutes and took about exactly that.)

So if you're there and the line is completely out of whack for what it "should" be, then you might want to come back later. I also think the morning is the best time to do it without a wait, though.

Mouse Wait puts it at 38 minutes right now, but we never waited more than five minutes when we went during daylight hours last week. I think the key is to go on the ride before it gets dark and then come back to admire the lights after it gets dark.

As others have said, go during daylight hours. We walked by tonight (our last night) to see all the lights one last time and to ride if the line was short. Well at 8:10 pm the wait time was 45 mintues, is was a huge line, snaking all over the place back there.

That being said the lines for everything were crazy tonight (Tuesday). Not sure why - it was a beautiful day and AP's were able to go today so may be that is it because starting at about 5:30 pm the crowds really swelled. It seemed busier tonight - wait time wise, than it was on Friday or Sunday nights.
