I know officially you are supposed to be able to book 500 days in advance for a resort, but, when I put in April 2014 dates all the resorts I checked state there are no rooms??? Am I too early or too late?

Too early. Rates for 2014 have not come out yet, but should be here any day. :goodvibes

You can call and book room only now, but you can't book a package or book online until the 2014 rates are released (which could be any time). If you call and book now, you will be quoted at the highest rate for 2013, which will automatically be adjusted once the new rates come out. Keep in mind that if you book room only now and change to a package later, the room only will have to cancelled/refunded, and a package booked, requiring a new $200 deposit. Room only and packages are different reservation systems, so money paid toward one cannot be applied to the other. With that said, if you know you want a package, it's better to wait until the rates are released. HTH :).

Great info - thanks! I will look for the release date thread & sub to it.

If I want to go to WDW 1st week in December at WL CL when should I book around???

I assume you are asking for December 2014, in which case, I would book as soon as you can after the 2014 rates are released. WL is a popular resort (especially at Christmas time) and books up fast for that time of year. With that said, the WL is an amazing resort and CL is awesome :thumbsup2. Happy planning.

I think it's a lot busier than it used to be as Disney has changed its rate seasons. It used to be that most of December (up until right before Christmas) was value season (i.e., a slower time), but that has changed. According to the rates on All Ears, it's "fall" season from beginning-mid December, with peak season starting 12/13 through 12/19 (and holiday rates kicking in 12/20). The WL is a great resort to stay at during the holidays so, IMO, it books up quicker than some of the other resorts.
