How long from parking to gate?

Hi, we are going to Universal for one day on a Saturday mid-September. The park hours are 8am to 6pm. We bought the Super Mario World early admission tickets. What time should we arrive at the park? I'm assuming that it takes a while to walk from the parking lot to the entrance. I haven't been to California in over 12 years, so I really have no idea how much time to allow for this. I want to make sure we arrive early enough, otherwise it was a waste to buy the tickets.

If you park in preferred parking, five minutes to the security line, which moves fast, and then walk right in if you have your ticket on your phone! You then have to take the famous steep escalators to mario world, so maybe arrive 7 ish so you can have a coffee and not rush.
