How long from Epcot to resort after Illuminations?

I'm trying to decide which of two evening to watch Illuminations. We'll be there Thurs Evening, Nov 2nd (arrival day) and Sat Evening, Nov 4th. We're planning at being at rope drop on the 4th, so I'm leaning toward staying for Illuminations on the 2nd. This way if we're getting tired on the 4th we can just leave. The wrinkle is that we have ADRs at CP at 8 a.m. on the 3rd and I don't want kiddos (8 and almost 7) to have been up way too late the night before.

We're staying at POFQ. If Illumination ends at about 9:15, what time can I realistically expect to be back at our room? We'll be using the buses. Thanks for any help you can give me!!

In May we got back about 10:15 after Illuminations.

It might just be smarter to monorail to ttc and then bus to your resort from there. Of course that would require getting to the monorail VERY quickly

Monorail terminals get very crowded right after Illuminations. Then you have to add the walking to and from monorail to resort buses. I would stick with the resort buses only.

You may want to consider renting a car, I've found that with a rental we save quite a bit of time over the busses, especially as POFQ is pretty much right around the corner from EPCOT. Also with bus transport usually starting about an hour before park opening you may need it to get to CP on time the next morning(although I would check with the hotel guest relations on this).

Realistically, no earlier than 10:15 but more than likely, around 10:30. Either way, a late night for the young ones.

Buses start running from all resorts to all parks by about 6:45am every day (sometimes earlier).

I would say our experience is about an hour to get from Epcot, MGM or MK after the big show.
