How long from AKL to MK?

How long will it take to get from AKL to MK and also to DD? We have four small children, including 4 year old twins, so I'm trying to figure out how long the trips from our resort to other spots at Disney typically take.

Do you mean using Disney transportation or your own car?

Using Disney transportation, we always allow an hour before we want to arrive (so we show up at the bus stop one hour before). That is a safe cushion even when you might have to wait for the bus.

By car, I'm guessing you will be from the AKL parking lot to the TTC in under 20 minutes. But then you will have to take the ferry or monorail to the Magic Kingdom entrance (and the tram at the TTC parking lot, unless you park near the front of the lot).

I think Disney now tells you to allow 90 minutes for transportation times when you are making ADRs and things.

But that's a pretty conservative window. You would have to be really unlucky for it to take you more than 60 minutes.

The actual bus driving time from AKL to MK is about 20 minutes. Of course, you have to allow for time for the bus to arrive. That averages a 5-20 minute wait. It is very unusual, though not impossible, to wait more than 20 minutes for the bus.

Magic Kingdom is the farthest park from the AKL. It doesn't seem like a long ride at all.

Animal Kingdom is only about well less than 5 minutes.

Epcot and Disney Studios are only 10 - 15 mins.

Your kids will love the bus rides they let you off outside the parks. Especially for Magic Kingdom where you need to take the tram from the parking lot and then the ferry or the monorail. Have fun!
