Approx how long will dinner at Ohana's be? I was thinking since it is family style you start getting your food right when seated. Is that correct? We have a 5:00 ressie and want to be at MK to see Spectro at 7:00 (will monorail over). Is this possible?

You might be cutting it close.

We have found that sometimes, it takes them awhile to seat everyone with 5:00 ressies. The meal moves right along, but by the time you get thru the MK gates, you might not get a very good viewing spot.

You didn't say what time of year you are going, and I think that would make a difference.

Hi Stasieki,
I think it is possible. The food service starts not long after you sit down. I would say that you could finish in 1 hour or so if you moved through the meal quickly.

We felt slightly rushed the time we went though I understand they are trying to move everyone in and out. I would say that we were done in an hour and a half and we took more time than needed.

We went the night of MVMCP and set everything up with the same time structure as you. We made it just fine. The monorail will help with that. Enjoy and have a great time.

Since the food is gross, and they throw it at you very quickly you'll be fine. Seriously check out some place else for dinner, I didn't like this place at all!

This is definitely doable. Me and my daughter ate there this past Monday. We had a 5:20 reservation and were seated immediately and they were packed! They begin serving food immediately and the activities will start soon after. My daughter always likes to do several of the activities and this takes extra time, it seems like they do an activity every 20 minutes or so (e.g. coconut races, limbo, birthday annoucements, parade, etc.). She participated in three of these and we were out of there in 1.5 hours.

The monorail ride will take less then 10 minutes and you can secure a good spot right at Main Street for Spectro.

I would just ask to have the check taken care of before you are finished eating to avoid that delay.

Enjoy! :thumbsup2

I really liked Ohanas - enough that we are going there again this next trip. I thought it was really good. That was 2 years ago, maybe it's changed, but I hope not.

Thanks, everyone, for the advice. We will the there 2nd week of November so I think we will be OK based on what everyone has said.

Personally I think it will be cutting it close. As lake queen said, they open at 5 so there will be quite a few people waiting to be seated at that time. I'd expect at least an hour for your meal, possibly 20-25+ minutes to wait for the monorail and get there, and THEN there is security. Expect maybe 10-15 for that. After all that, you still need to find a place to sit. I just know I'd never be able to relax at dinner if I was watching the clock all the time.

We go in off peak times like you are as well and despite that, we've learned that it takes almost twice as long to do any transportation than we expect. That isn't even talking about busses. Just monorail and driving.

Good luck if you try.

Alternatively, get a table by the window, order another Lapu-Lapu and watch the fireworks from the comfort of the restaurant :)
