How long for checkin at MCO?

We leave for the World in 2 1/2 weeks (just DH and I for our 20th anniversary). I'm wondering how long to allow for checkin back at the airport. We have a rental car to return and a suitcase or two to check. Is two hours enough? We haven't flown in a while!

2 hours is probably ok except if you have a 7-8 am flight; then allow a little bit extra. Seems like lines are really long in the morning, even outside with the skycaps. We're flying out of MCO this coming Friday and I plan to have us at the check-in line no later than 6pm for our 8pm departure.

You really should plan on being in the checkin line at least two hours before flight departure. So leave plenty of time to return your car.

Thanks for your responses. Our flights are at 8:30 pm on a Friday night. I don't know if that is a good or bad time for leaving. I was planning on being at the airport by 6'ish to turn in the car and then on to checkin. I know my DH will want to push it and get there well past 6:30. He believes all things will work out for him. That's why I wanted some feedback from someone who has done it.

TSA suggest 1.5 hours. Some airlines require checked luggage be checked in at least 45 minutes before your flight. Some passengers drop off the luggage and the rest of the family while the driver returns the rental car.

If you are taking USAir, allow extra!! Seems like their computers are down all the time since the merger of the two systems.

We waited close to an hour in line and then went out to curbside and paid the fee for the bags after waiting another 45 minutes out there. When we went back inside, the people who had been in line in front us hadn't even moved half way to the front of the line. It was a mess.
