We are trying to figure out how long to reserve Flounders for when we go to Palo's. Is 2 hours enough to drop DS off, eat at Palo's, and pick him back up?

Well if it is just the 2 of You I would say yes..

We Went With A Party of 6 and ended up being in there for close to 4 hours..

A Great time was had by All.. :teeth:

Probably (unless you get another souffle after you snarf down the first one), but why not make it 3 hours and just spend some time with your DH strolling around the ship and enjoying your time together? ;)

We have 8 hours max we can use at Flounders and are consuming most of it do do an excursion in Nassau. We are trying to budget our nursery allotment. If I can shave off time from Palo night I can have an extra half hour or so on Castaway Cay.

I wish we could have 9 hours or 10 in Flounders...that would solve the problem. Believe me, DH and I would love to have it be less rushed and to have some time together afterwards. This is kind of a side question...do they ever let you stay longer than you have reserved if we ask when we check in. We are sailing over the 4th of July and it is a sold out sailing so I know they'll be busy...and likely lots of kids since school is out. I'm not real hopeful.

The online booking is pretty much full already and they'll be plenty that want spots that didn't book online unaware.

Thoughts?

We've done Palo's twice but for the life of me and don't remember how long it took. There was no need to monitor our watch back then.

So right now I have Palos reserved for 2 and a half hours. Do you think I'm safe to cut it back to 2?

Unless something has recently changed, Flounders will charge you for the time you actually use, with a two hour minimum - and when we reserved time there, once we dropped off we were always told that if we told them three hours and took 4, no problem. So, if you back off to 2, I don't think they'll be paging you at 2 hours 15 minutes to find out where you are!

I just don't want to get in "trouble" If they are full and someone else is needing DS's spot. I just want to be considerate of others... I know they have a 1 to 4 infant ratio. If us returning late messes someone else's reservation up I would feel terrible.

If we are late it is normally ok? Also, what if makes us exceed our 8 hour max for the trip it should be ok too?

I don't think my DH and myself ever spent 2 hours at Palo, we eat quickly though. If you go in and let them know you are on a time limit and order quickly then there should be no trouble being out in 2 hours.

The servers are excellent in Palo. When you arrive, let them know you have a time limit and they will accommodate you. For instance, if you want the souffle for dessert, they'll put it in with your dinner order. They will even wrap your desserts to go if you do need to leave. We saw many guests who were done in under 2 hours.

Ok. We just changed the time from 2.5 hours to 2 hours. Now we have 1.5 hours with the baby in daycare so I can go swimming with my daughter in the ocean while at Castaway Cay. I know they have a 2 hour minimum so I assume that even thought they only will have him for an hour and a half they'll charge me for 2. Oh well. They didn't have a 2 hour block of time online anyway.
