How long does it take you to pack?

Seems like I'm making lists and putting stuff in the camper for at least a month before we leave. :lmao:

Although seriously... if DH came home today and said "get packed, we're leaving for WDW" (Oh if only!!!) I'm pretty sure I could have us and the 3 dogs packed and out the door in an hour.

Helps to know where the grocery stores/WalMarts are near WDW - just in case. ;)

Can do it in a couple hours or less if necessary. We keep the MH stocked with extra clothes, toiletries, paper goods etc, and all we need to add is the perishable food.

Pretty much the same here. The trailer stays ready to roll. There are a few things to put in the truck, and just add clothes.

Since I do keep it ready, usually I spend a little bit each evening, the week before a trip adding clothing and food staples that I have on hand, but I do my shopping once I'm in Orlando.

The christmas and halloween decorations stay in Orlando in my Owner's Locker :-)

I start making my lists as soon as I make my reservation. I am now at the 99 day mark and this is when I really start getting into gear. I printed my list and am going over it to make sure that everything is where it is supposed to be and in working order. I highlight any items on the list that need to be fixed, purchased, or batteries replaced. This step will take a couple months so I don't have to rush. Then at the 30 day mark, things start to get moved into the "staging area". That is where I move everything into a certain spot where it will stay until loaded in the van. A week before, the clothes start getting packed.

It was a lot easier when we had our TT. Like everyone else, it stayed pretty much ready to go. Just add clothes and food!!!

Takes my wife a good week to pack. She's gotta have 2-3 outfits per day and needs to have the appropriate outfit for the activity for the day.

I wear the same uniform all vacation - shorts, hawaiian shirt, and sandals. I can be ready to go in under 30 minutes. Heck, all I usually need to do is grab a pair of clean underpants, put em in my pocket and I'm outta there. If I'm rushed, I skip the clean underpants.

Jim, we would really like the clean underpants taken along and used. Remember we were there for the gg 2009 and I don't think you had them. lol

clothing, pretty much in the rig all the time. food, just have to stop and get the last minute stuff. holiday decorations, well... that takes a little time. i don't want to take anything too big or heavy. so, i have to think about what i really want for decorations.

otherwise, i think a couple hours. but, like monique said " if dh called and said we are heading out." I AM READY NOW! :)

We are gonna try'n go to the Fort in Oct,,I'll start packing this week-end.

We are like most The trailer stays ready to roll with all our Disney stuff packed. We no longer pack fresh food we just get it when we get there. We found we waste less food that way. We do leave almost all can foods in RV.

The MH basically stayed packed and ready to go. I just get groceries, pack necessary meds, and seasonal clothing. Maybe 1 hour, tops.

The major issue is how much beer & margarita mix to pack. :woohoo:

I'm speaking of packing before you leave your home and head to WDW.

A month or two, but we are slow and take more than we will ever need and our length of stays (45days +) are not typical. A lot of our preparation is food since we do a lot of frozen, zip lock prepared meals/sauces to cut down on actual prep time when at FW and to avoid buying much locally.

Not too long. The camper stays ready. I add towels and clothes and off we go!

What do you mean the trailer stays ready to roll? Your trailer has been parked at the for for almost 8 months that I know of. Have you left? :lmao:

Back on subject. I have linens for the camper and once they're washed they go back in. Being that it's usually just me and my daughter there's not a lot of packing to do. I usually hit Winn Dixie when we get to Orlando.

Oh, and I only buy one 6 pack of beer. The rest I bum from others. Helps cut down on fuel usage as well.

I start printing my lists and prepping 3 months out. We can't really store much in a popup so what we take and where we put it are pretty important. We take enough food to get us there and for 1-2 days after then we go to the Winn-Dixie. For me, part of the fun of disney is the prep work!

Donnie are you shure you buy a hole 6pk? If you do i have never seen it. So you are why I have to buy 5 cases everyother day

Todd, your camper stays packed because you never leave there. Oh that's right u left!!! How many days to go back, why unpack the camper!!!!
Donnie, so that's where my cooler and beer went on July 4th.
My camper stays packed can go anytime, I am ready now.

mamaloya is a woman I can identify with!!!! My husband thinks I'm crazy with my lists and checklists and inventory sheets. He just wants to fly by the seat of his pants which drives me crazy! Then I get the blame if we don't have something!!!! It will take us longer to pack this time because we "robbed Peter to pay Paul" with items from the RV for the house. Now all I have is spices, flour and sugar out there!!!! I need to start today getting stuff!!!!:scared1:

After our Christmas trip I emptied the food cabinets. Found cans already outdated in 2006. We'll start over for our Spring break trip in April. I also left the spices out there. Better start stocking now. :confused3

DW starts putting stuff in boxes a month before the trip then I move the MH from the garage to the font yard a week out. Then we both take off the day before we leave for final prep.
