How long does it take you to fall asleep once you shut off the lights?

My wife is asleep within 20 seconds once the lights go out. I usually take 10 minutes or so. How about you?

Who needs the lights off? I have been known to fall asleep mid-sentence (yep, I'm the one talking :rotfl: ). It takes my DH hours to fall asleep. He gets so pissed off at me sometimes. :rotfl2:

At least 1 hour for me and only about 20 seconds for DH! :goodvibes

I have to watch T.V. to fall asleep. Once I put it on and get nice and comfy not to long till I am ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! :cloud9:

I have dreams while i'm in that gray area between sleeping and being awake and I'm there for usually 2-3 hours a night. then I finally get to sleep, where I usually lucid dream, and its like my mind never gets to rest sometimes. but to get to the gray area, usually .5-1.5 hours.

Just a few minutes usually. My Boston Terrier sleeps with us. I try and get to sleep before her as she snores, ALOT and I want to be out before she starts sawing logs! LOL

DH drops off in a matter of less than a minute... sometimes mid-sentence. Now THATS an irritating trait. Me, I usually take 20mins or more. If I'm still awake 45 mins after I get in bed I'll get up and take half of a Benadryl. I'm out 20 mins after that.

ooo.... that's one of my pet peeves!

But if it's entirely silent and dark, I can fall asleep in less than 2 minutes. In college I had a lot of trouble sleeping my first year because they used to keep the street lights on till late hours of the night, and I grew up in a town without any streetlights, and very little traffic. When I don't get any rest either, I become the Queen of Crankiness. :furious:

Same here, we lost power one night and it took forever to fall alseep.

I guess it depends on how tired I am. When very tired and sleepy, then maybe within 5 minutes, if not maybe 20.

Without Melatonin an hour or longer, even when I'm dog tired.

With Melatonin, 10 minutes tops! That's why I'm a Melatonin girl!

Before Wellbutrin: a loooong time as I first had to worry and stress over every single thing that could possibly go wrong in my life: illness, money troubles, arguements, embarrassments, whatever. Imagined stress all of it, none of it was anything that was happening.
If I wasn't worrying, then I worried that I forgot something I was supposed to be worried about, seriously.
At least an hour, sometime 2 or 3 hours.

Now: much more quickly than I ever have in my life as I have MUCH less anxiety. Maybe 5 minutes. It's such a relief!

I also read every night in bed, so I read until I'm sleepy and then turn out the light.

I usually stay up rather late so I don't go to bed until I'm really tired. I'm usually to sleep within minutes. I could go to bed early but I'm not tired then and I don't want to lay in bed for hours when I can be doing other things!
