How long does it take to show your DVC reservation? Please help a renter!

I am trying to help my friend who rented points. I used mydisneyreservation.com/dvc to check on her reservation, and it shows up. Well, we had to change the spelling of her name (Disney made a mistake) and add the dining plan and magical express info. The woman told me 2 weeks ago that she would do it, and it still hasn't changed. I emailed her and she said that she had done the changes a while ago. But the reservation information online still show the wrong name and no dining plan.

How long does it take for it to register? What am I missing here? I don't know what to do and I don't want my friend to not have her reservation, she bought plane tickets and her park passes and all...what can I do?

It should not take long at all, as to what you can do, sorry nothing.

The DVC member owns the reservation until your friend checks in and until then the member is in control.

Best she can do is to try to contact them again and explain it is not showing up.

Sammie, that's what I thought. I will have to call her or have my friend call her about it. I was helping my friend with her reservation because I am also a DVC member so I was more familiar with the process of renting points. I hope this gets cleared up....it is her first Disney trip in her life and she is taking her daughter for the first time!

No, its actually her that is worrying (thus making me worry) because she tried to make dining reservations and they can't find her reservation nor her dining plan to be able to reserve Cinderella's Royal table so they don't charge her credit card since she is doing the Deluxe dining plan. I got a copy of her disney confirmation and thats when I saw her last name is spelled wrong, they put a "S" instead of an "F" so its a completely different last name.

My advice is the same, have your friend contact the member that she rented from and have the reservation corrected.

Yes. DVC reservations are booked through Member Services and not through Disney's Central Reservation Center.

In terms of the timing, when any change is made, it should update almost automatically (at least it did when we added the DDP to our reservation). I'm sure your friend is getting a bit concerned (probably needlessly) but she needs to reach out to the person she rented her points from. I highly doubt MS is going to talk to her directly regarding the reservation (and even less likely will allow her to make changes to it) because she does not technically own the reservation. In terms of making ADRs, as a temporary measure and until everything gets straightened out, she might want to go ahead and just reserve those that require a credit card guarantee and just sort it out once everything gets straightened out. Good luck to your friend (I'm sure everything is fine, though).
