How long does it take to get AP activated?

And do the ticket offices open before the park's official opening? Just trying to schedule things in my head, esp. the need to take the very first bus in the morning. Planning on activating at AK and want to be in the gates at 9 am or thereabouts - is this possible? Would it be better to try to activate the night before? We are arriving about 7 pm at WL and I guess we could run over to MK (the TTC actually? Is that right?). NOT dragging my 4-year-old to DTD though ...

Sorry, lots of questions there!

The longest part will be waiting if there is a line at the customer service window. Once you get to the window with your voucher, it will only take about 5 min. It's not a big deal...they just get all the info. in the computer and print out your tickets.

From what i understand you can activate an AP at guest services at DTD. So you can go there the night you check in if you want to.

DTD Guest Relations is open from 8:30 am until 11 pm, so you can get them activated there the night before you go to the parks. It will take about 1 to 2 minutes per AP.

Uh, as I said in my first post I am ABSOLUTELY NOT dragging my 4 year old to DTD that night. MK is a possibility but we may not arrive in time. So I need help with AK's ticket office/guest relations, please - do they open prior to 9 am and, if so, about what time? Does it really just take 5 minutes to verify name and address (my name is wrong on the voucher :confused3 ), get the biometric scan, etc.?

They enter your anme address and all other information intot he computer so yes it can take serveral minutes. This must be done for each ticket so if your child is also getting an AP then the information has to be entered for them also. If the computers are slow this can take longer.Any number of things could happen the printer can be out of tickets. If somene is having a problem with their tickets and they are in front of you in line then your wait may be longer. You do not scan your fingers at this time they do that at the turnstiles. If you really want to get to the park when it opens for the day you may become frustrated with waiting.
I have a 4 year old and i would rather drag them to DTD where they can ride onthe carosel there or the train or play in the lego area after you validate your passes rather than drag them to the TTC.

Guest relations does open before the park opens. I have been there almost a 1/2 hour early(8:30) and I know it was open then. I don't know how much earlier though.2 windows were open.
If you have problems with your name being spelled wrong etc. i think I would get it done the night before to be on the safe side.

Thanks, I was actually going to ask what time Guest Relations opens in DTD. We are driving down and will arrive about 7-8AM depending on traffic.

Thanks for the info!
Good luck to the OP!

Why don't you just hop on the boat to the MK from WL? It's a nice little boat ride your 4 year old will enjoy. Go to guest services there to activate your ap then hop on the monorail to GF for ice cream! Or get a ps for Chef Mickey's! That's what I would do. The Feb hours are posted on the disneyworld web site for MK. Check on there for guest services hours or call the park... I think gs is open one hour before and one hour after oficial park open/close. Just a thought. Have a great trip! I'm also doing a Mommy & me trip! Aren't we great mommies!!!

Your four year old probably doesn't have anything like this, but when we activated ours (at MK when the park opened) we brought along picture IDs not only for us, but for our two children. The CM said that it was very helpful when people did that and made the transaction faster and easier.
