I e-mailed Alex a week ago today, concerning my views on one of my posts being moved, and I still have not heard from him. Does it usually take a week, or more, for them to answer when you e-mail them?

If I were you, I would send an email to all of the webmasters at
admin@wdwinfo.com

I imagine Alex gets hundreds of emails every day, if not thousands of them. Try that address.

Hey chattyholic,
I don't recall seeing the email but if you would like to resend it I will keep an eye out for it.

One of mine was moved today. No explaination nothing. Had nothing to even do with the theme park board!! Oh well I guess the control must lie somewhere or feel like it anyway.

I would suggest you email admin@wdwinfo.com too, kinlaw6450, that's what I would do, If I was upset over something like that.

I just thought of something else. When a post is moved there is usually a redirect left too, so that all you have to do is click on that post and you are taken to the new location.

I found your post on page two and it has a redirect.

for those who are having issues with moved thread...the following can be found on the DIS Guidlines... to go to the DIS GUIDELINES

6. STAYING ON TOPIC: The boards are named to reflect general topics. Please refrain from asking questions about park hours on the DVC board, or questions about the Caribbean Beach on the Trip Reports board.

I hope this clarifies things. :) :teeth:
Redirects are used so you can still get to the link it was moved to from the board it was originally posted to. So, if your post is moved to another board, it is obviously on the wrong board.

If you disagree please feel free to contact a administrator at
admin@wdwinfo.com

I reported a thread to the Moderators because I was TOLD to after I emailed a moderator.
I was annoyed that the thread was so obviously on a board where it didn't belong, I've gotten over it now. ;)
I quickly received a rude and condescending email from a moderator I had never even heard of before.
I didn't appreciate it at all.
Like Alex basically said in the original thread by Dan Murphy, if a thread gets moved it's okay, if it doesn't get moved, it's okay.
So, you just never know!
;)

montessori, if any moderator here says anything or writes to you anything that upsets you, or you feel is out of line, then please feel free to forward it to a webmaster at the email already given above twice.

As for the question of how long it takes to get a response, my experience has been from very quickly, several minutes maybe, to never. If I don't get a response in some sort of reasonable time, I just send a follow up (actually waiting for a further clarification on one right now, from early last Wednesday, that I will follow up on in a day or two) after a length of time has elasped and the question is not answered. They are very busy and some things fall through the cracks or get lost.

As for the moving of threads, the way I understand it now is, that on all the topical boards (all but this one), threads can be moved if they are off topic (the topic of that board), and on the non-topic restrictive board here, they can be moved, if considered topical for one of the topical boards, on a thread by thread basis, at a moderator's discretion. So I would just think that a lot could be moved from here, depending.

To tell you the truth, I never notify a poster when I move their post. I post to the thread explaining the reasons, then leave a re-direct. My life is too busy to repeat information :)

to simplify what Dan said... according to DIS Guidelines :)

6. STAYING ON TOPIC: The boards are named to reflect general topics. Please refrain from asking questions about park hours on the DVC board, or questions about the Caribbean Beach on the Trip Reports board.

and that includes the CB...If there is a board dedicated to the topic you are asking, then that is where it will go.

Judy, that is what I do also :)

Thanks, Dan. I think I understand what you're saying about "depending..." ;)

I did receive an e-mail from Alex, although his response really didn't satisfy me at least he did answer. :)

On the subject of my "moved thread", I posted it on the CB board as it really didn't pertain to any other board. I posted my feelings. But because one person wanted to turn it into a debate, it was quickly moved to the debate board. I still don't think it should have been moved. But it's a moot point now so I will shut up about it, even though I'm still not happy. :)
