How long does it take at LAX to return car

How long does it take at LAX to return car and get back to the terminal? I've got a 4:30 pm flight and I'm not sure what time I should be pulling up to the car rental place. Also we are going to be in Marina Del Ray that day and I'm not sure what time we should leave there to start driving to the airport.

Hi Louise,

You should be at the terminal 2 hours before your flight (2:30), so I would say to be at the rental car place by 2pm just in case it is busy. Marina del Rey to the airport give it about 20 minutes, and add some time if you are in bumper to bumper rush hour.
