How long does dinner at Ohana take..?

I have an 8:30pm reservation here but I am also hoping to make it to the Osbourn Family lights that evening. My father is flying in that day - landing at 4:41pm at MCO. I've heard you should allow 2 hours to make it to the resort which is why I went with such a late reservation, but now I'm thinking if we go we may not be able to make it back over to HS in time to see the lights even though it closes at 11pm that night. I really don't think we could make it over there first and back to Ohana's either, so am I just setting myself up for disappointment?

We were there on a rainy day and it took about 2 hours for us to eat and get out of there. However, we took our time because we had no other plans that evening.

I would let your server know that you would like to make it out of there in about 1 hour if possible. They should be able to accommodate you.

Ohana is the one place that we always wait about 20/30 mins past our ADR time, and last time I was there I am pretty sure for 2 of us it was 1 1/2 for the eating part.

'Ohana isn't really a rapid eat and run kind of restaurant.

If you have a car, it's possible you'll make it. If you're taking Disney transportation, you'll have to get a bus to Studios, which will stop at Grand Floridian before it heads over there.

Ohana is the longest dinner we ever experience.

Usually our meals take about an hour, but at Ohana that easily last 2 hours. Service is very very slow the later in the evening you are seated.
I would plan 2 hours easy for this meal.

Two hours? Thats amazing... the restaurants in Disneyland warn you not to stay at character meals longer than 90 minutes; I really wasn't expecting that

Dinner at Ohana is not a character meal. Only during breakfast do they have characters. Just making sure you understand that. Wouldn't want you to be disappointed, expecting them.

We ate dinner at 8:30 were in and out in less than an hour. Its not prime time dinner hour so it may be a little quicker.

That is cutting it close as O' Hana's is sit and relax place to eat and it is not character for dinner. To get back over to HS is going to be a rush. Would you be able to change another closer to HS for that nite so you could go and enjoy O'Hana's some other nite? it is to good to rush

I agree with most of the posters here. This is not a rush kind of place to eat, there are just to many things to enjoy here to want to rush through it.
I would make one or the other another night, honestly.
I do know that it took us over and hour before we were seated for dinner after check in, and that was not during peak season, it was in May before all the schools were let out. I believe we were there about the same time your ADR is for. We got out of there close to 11, I think my family thought it was the best meal while in the World, that and Kona's.
Since it is the night your dad is coming in he may not want to rush around, he'll probably be pretty tired...I'm thinking it might be best to take that evening nice and slow. Come to think of it, you probably won't want to feel rushed to enjoy the lights either.

Hmm, well its not like we want to rush the staff or anything which is why I asked if it would be doable under normal circumstances. I also know my fam wouldn't really like having to wait an hour for a reservation seating or to spend a couple more hours over a meal when we have so little time to see everything christmasy that we can in the parks (we are only going to be there for 4 days). Even when we go to nice restaurants at home it rarely is stretched out so long unless it is several plated courses with wine pairings and the like! Sounds like its just not a very good fit for us and the way we travel even without the lights in consideration, so thank you for your thoughts!

Our party of 6 took 2 hours. You could probably knock about 20 minutes off of that if you dont have someone like my hubby sitting with you who never says "No, thanks. Im full" I finally had to step in and say "OK, youre done!"

For us its usually about an hour and a half but we have taken two hours before. For comparison purposes, we are always out of restaurants in under an hour, even character meals. We also usually have a 15-20 minute wait to be seated.

The different foods are served as different courses and come out several at a time. The pace is just what I would call relaxed. We love 'Ohana but I wouldn't want to have to rush through dinner.
