How long do you think the timed tickets will last?

how long did it take for the original HP mania to die down and not need a timed pass? We are thinking about Sept/Oct/or Nov trip, and want to know if its going to be limited or if after the summer the lines will be reasonable?

Are you talking about Express Pass, because you cannot use the express pass for either of the Harry Potter lands.
We went last September and walked right on at Rope Drop and walked on again twice an hour before park closing.

I think maybe OP is talking about limiting entry in to the WWoHP areas of the parks. When it first opened, Hogsmeade would close to capacity and guests were given a time to return.

I received confirmation last night that they are reinstating the time passes for both Diagon Alley AND Hogsmeade for at least the initial opening of DA, as they did with the Hosmeade originally for quite a while, you will go and get a return time to enter the area, return time passes are expected to be in Jurassic Park at IOA again, and between MIB and Fear Factor on the Universal side. They are expecting/hoping for crowds similiar to the pics of 2010.

october will not have the crowds that the summer brings.
hp2......can't see them issuing timed returns in october.

I was also there in October 2010. I think there was one Saturday morning right about an hour after park opening that they would wait for a group to exit the area before allowing more in. This was due to onsite guests crowding the place at 8 AM and many people at Rope Drop heading there first thing. I was exiting at around 9:40 or so after my breakfast at 3 Broomsticks as part of the package. We went back many other times and had no such limits.

We actually went in July of that year and had no problems, but we did early entry and left once it started getting crowded.

My guess is after summer crowds leave it wont be used..It will likely be in use for Christmas week again though

We went the third week of August the year WWoHP opened. It only reached capacity once (due to Forbidden Journey being down for an extended period of time). It was jam packed every day though. We went early and were fine. DH and the boys also used single rider for FJ and rode multiple times.
