How long do the resort buses run after park closing?

We are going to wait to ride FOP until the end of the night (getting in line prior to 8pm park close). How long do the resort buses run after park closing? We could end up still having a long wait to ride it depending on how many people are in line.

I believe they run 2 hours after a park closes. One thing for certain is you won't have to worry about getting stranded

They don't leave guests stranded in a park with no way to get back to the resort. They KNOW you are in the park.

Thanks everyone. I'm just finalizing our draft park plans. We book our FP+ on December 3, so want to have a game plan going in.

We were there last weekend and got in line for FOP at 7:30pm for a 120 minute posted wait. The park closed at 8pm. We finished riding around 10pm and were ushered out of the park and on to a bus very quickly. Our bus did stop at 2 different resorts, but we were well taken care of.

I once left Magic Kingdom at 3am (long story). They found a bus driver and had him drive me back to Pop. I was the only one in the bus.

There is no set time, it varies from night to night and park to park. The policy is that if they got you there, they'll get you back.

The most frequently "advertised" times for Bues Service are 45 minutes before Park Opening and 2 hours after Park Close,but just as the Park Opening buses start much earlier than the "advertised" time(Magic Kingdom buses usually start between 6:00 amd and 6:30 AM for example)Park Close buses will run longer than the 2 hours "advertised" time if necesary.

Just remember, it's pretty meaningless. The buses run more hours than it indicates.

They most definitely are NOT going to leave guests abandoned inside the Parks overnight...

I parked my vehicle at AK, then park hopped to MK. I promptly forgot about my vehicle and stayed several hours after AK closed. Not a problem...they always take care of you. Not a license to abuse the bus system, but don't worry about it either.

I have never understood why they "advertise" 45 minutes before and 2 hours after because it really causes unnecessary "stress" for Guests new to the Buses.

No.

Officially, return service to Disney Resort hotels from DS ends at 2:00 AM. You're on your own after that. If there is a bus available, they might send it to check the bus load zones periodically after 2am, but don't count on it.
