Polls opened at 6:00 a.m. We were in line at 6:10. We waited about 20 minutes. I am amazed at how many people were there. Not just at that time, but in general. I've NEVER seen that many people waiting to vote for anything in this town.
The moderator (I think that's what she called herself) was also amazed. She said that it would be nice if people showed up in those numbers for every election. I have to agree.
1 hour, 45 minutes. I got there at 6 AM but the polls opened 45 minutes late because they couldn't get the machines to work. Then they only had two out of seven working. I had about 50 people in front of me, once they got going it took an hour to get through the line.
Had they had their act together and all the machines going, it would have been a breeze.
under 5 minutes.... went after work, got there around 3pm and only one other guy checking in..... based on my ballot number, it has been busy (around 3x more people than usual for that time of day)
About three weeks. That's how long our mail-in ballots sat on our kitchen counter before dh and I filled them out last night, and dropped them off this morning.
Mine took about 5, seriously. I parked, walked in, signed in, got my card, went to the empty machine, voting took 45 seconds, dropped my card, got my sticker and went back to my car and left. And I went about 4:45pm!
Less than a minute... when I got there, someone was in the booth already, so however long it took her to make her choices.
I was really worried because the parking lot was packed. But when I went inside, there were probably 8 different districts voting there. (First time I've been there other than the primary... they changed my polling place before the primary).
I went early this morning. (polls open at 6 AM). I waited about 5-10 minutes. Got on my train & went to work. First time in my life that I voted early in the morning, I think I'm going to do that in the future. (I've been voting since 1980)
No line at all when I showed up. Only spent a few minutes filling out the ballot. Spent about that much time talking to my former mail carrier who'd retired 15 yrs ago.
Actually, we arrived at 5.50, polls opened at 7, and I left at 7.50. The line was totally crazy when we left though......
Nowhere to park in the lot- people were pulling off on the side of the road and walking to the polling place- and the line outside to get into the voting room was winding around the parking lot.
The turn out was amazing- and the officials were really shocked!
