How long did it take you to find a resale?

Hi,

We just got on the wait list a couple days ago at two resellers after I finally convinced everyone in my family that DVC was a great idea. We are looking for Boardwalk. How long did it take you guys from when you called the timeshare companies until they called you back with a listing that fit your needs. I am so anxious and ready to start planning a vacation!

Actually, the 1st time I called our agent, Jaki, she had informed me of a package that she thought we would be interested in. Once I told DH the points (OKW), price, etc. he said to make an offer. Well, the owners were on vacation at the time and the offer was submitted once they returned. They immediately accepted it and paid the DVC transfer fees. We paid the closing fees. I could not believe how quick everything went from there. We really didn't shop around for a certain amount of points. We had a general idea of how many points we wanted. This pretty much fell into our lap. Have you tried Jaki yet? We were very happy with her. She was not pushy and answered any ??? we had. I think her website is www.atimeshare.com . We have never regretted buying and wished we had done it sooner! Good luck and keep us posted!

8 days and counting...

I've signed a contract on a resale just recently. I guess it is according to how many points you are looking for and how flexible you are on that number.

I had established a range of points in which I would be interested. I didn't have to wait at all. There was a listing that fell into my range. I made an offer and the seller accepted. Now just waiting for the closing!

In general there seem to be fewer BWV resales on the three sites that I checked just now than there have been over the last two weeks. I would guess that there would be more coming onto the market pretty soon. Over the last two weeks, I would say that I've seen around 8 or so BWV resales on the sites.

Good luck.

Upon my return from Disney last August I had decided we were going to purchase;however, I wanted to test the resale market. At that time there was more of an inventory than there is today. It took about two weeks before I purchased. I had made several offers that were rejected. The third time was the charm. I purchased through the timeshare store and everything went smooth. Since the BWV sold out the resale market has been very tight. If you are patient I am sure you will get something. Keep in mind the amount of points you need and consider the entire package i.e. cost of closing etc. You don't want to overpay for a resale. Good luck! I am sure you will find something.

from when we decided to seriously make offers, within a day we saw a couple of good resales and within in 24 made an offer that was accepted.

Very quick for us. No need to be on a list even though we did put ourselves on one right away, it was necessary.
