How long did it take to complete cars land in ca?

I am wondering what the time frame was from announcement to completion in Disneyland? Trying to get a very early idea if it will be done at wdw by our next trip, lol

Well, the DCA makeover as a whole was announced in 2007... and it was completed in 2012. But that included many areas of the park and CL was sort of the last piece of that.

FLE has been in the works 3 years since it was announced. I'm thinking that might be a more realistic timeframe for DHS's CL.
