How long before crowds disperse after MK fireworks?

We will stay until 9pm for fireworks on a night the park closes at 9 for the first time. Large crowds make me nervous with small kids but since this may be the only time we see it, I want to watch on mainstreet to see Tink, etc. How long afterwards to we need to sit tight until crowds are more manageable to leave? Thanks.

You may see tink from almost any view in front of the castle. The view from in front of the crystal palace is excelent. To avoid the crowds on Main street either walk on the sidewalk or walk through the stores, they all connect so you can go through the quickly. This is a little known secret that we use a lot. Everyone else seems to walk right in the middle of the street. hope this helps

We usually stay for the "kiss good night". If you have not stayed for that before you may want to stay and let the crowds do what crowds do! Then we have a nice time walking down main street, after the crowds are gone. The shops are still open and no lines at the check out!

to answer your question it can take at least 1/2 hour for crowds to lighten after the fireworks...we love to sit and have a soda and watch them go...let them get on the buses while I wait in the park rather than a line at the bus or monorail...the stores are open at least an hour after the "park closes"

Thanks for the info, I'd love to hang out awhile but I'm also concerned about getting 'way past bedtime' cranky. Are there also long lines for the resort monorail?

the monorail loads much quicker so lines are not anywhere near as bad, but will occur right at closing...you would be well served not to try to get in the mass of people leaving all at once..it really clears out pretty fast if you let them all turn and leave before you

The kiss good night is really cool Just hang out and listen to the music and watch the castle. The music and lighting co-incide. The lighting creates different, beautifull images on the castle. Then there is the Kiss good night and the transformation and music stops. It was one of our favorite things we learned to appreciate due to the Dis Board
