How Long at Disney Springs

We have an upcoming cruise booked with an excursion at Orlando Outlet and Disney Springs.

We're thinking of spending little time at the Outlet and then heading to Disney Springs (even if we need to uber there ourselves). But wondering how long is a reasonable time at Disney Springs without getting bored? We'd probably do QS (vs Table Service) and maybe a snack at some point but the rest would be walking around seeing the place. Never been there so can't tell how long. I think between the two places, it's about 5hrs.

Coming with two kids: DS14 and DD10.

I could easily spend 5 hours at Disney Springs! Last time we did an evening (Christmas Tree Trail, dinner, balloon ride) and part of another day (lunch, shopping/the Void, ice cream).

There is plenty to do depending on your budget and interests. There is a movie theater, bowling alley and The Void. A slow walk from end to end will likely take 30 minutes. You can also take a free boat from end-to-end, or pay for a boat ride or balloon ride. If you like stop and browse, hours can pass.

If you are there at night, there is entertainment to watch.

At some point, I suspect your kids will get bored or just had enough if you are just looking in shops. You can take the Disney bus to a resort and ride the Skyliner and boats around Bay Lake to break up the day.

Is the balloon ride pricey?

It's $20 each for everyone 10 and over. You can also buy photos there. If the weather is poor, it doesn't fly (this seems to happen more frequently than you might think).

I was a pretty big fan; my wife not so much.

I’m surprised someone mentioned it only taking 30 minutes to walk one end to the other. The place is Huge. You could easily spend 8hours and not see everything

That's more comforting. If only 30 minutes to walk the place, it doesn't sound like it would keep us busy for a few hours.

Other than dinning , a movie or hanging out in the evening. I would say 3,hrs would be enough to go through the stores.

Avoid the outlets. Not worth it.

It takes 30 minutes to walk from end-to-end, but that doesn't include time to look at any stores. When we go we usually spend 3 hours there, of which an hour at least is eating. If you have never been, you might stay longer. It isn't a place I would spend all day at like a theme park, however.

The Void is a VR experience that both kids would probably enjoy, but especially the 14-year-old. There is also a BBB, if your DD is still interested in that sort of thing. Both obviously cost extra, but most of DS does, and those are two very “Disney” experiences that lift DS above the ordinary mall.

There are some cool shops to see, but my family would not be entertained in a mall for 5 hours unless I were giving in to their whines to buy them stuff. DS is basically a very large outdoor mall, which is not a destination in itself for us. YMMV in terms of how entertaining you find shopping.

Thanks. The Void may be an option. Although it's ironic as when I looked it up, it's here in my home city too. But good as an option if we had enough and have time to spend.

DD did BBB when she was 6 at Disney World trip and loved it. Not sure the hair-do though would be good going forward on our cruise...lol. It's also pricey.

There is a separate excursion on our ship that just does Disney Transportation and drops you at the TTC. It's even a bit cheaper than the one we have booked with Outlet and Disney Springs. We're just a bit uncomfortable getting ourselves around Disney (e.g. we could book it and resort hop and go to Disney Springs) and then having to find our way back to the TTC to catch the bus home.

But if we had enough outlet time, we're thinking we could just uber to Disney Springs....or even ask the bus driver if they could take us there (which they very well likely will say no - but no harm asking). I think the current split is about 2.5 hours at each place...which is why I'm questining if we just went right to DS or split the time.

Disney transportation is very easy. If you go to TTC, it's very easy hop a resort monorail to Contemporary, Poly, and GF. It's easy to take a monorail or ferry to MK, and then take a bus anywhere or a boat to FW.

If you're willing to take an Uber to DS, it's no more difficult taking an Uber back to TTC to catch your bus.

Disagree for 1 store (assuming someone wants to buy Disney Merchandise): Character Warehouse

Can walk to Poly from TTC and take a bus to Disney Springs. Can also take the monorail to any of the monorail resorts and hop on a bus from there. They make it really easy.

Worst case is Uber/Lyft. It was $10 to go from Wildness Lodge to Disney Springs a few weeks ago.

Thanks. Considering this as well. Our only issue is we don't know WDW well, so not sure if this would be too complicated. Uber goes to TTC, resorts and Disney Springs?

You can take a Disney bus to any Disney Resort from Disney Springs. For example, you can take the bus to the Beach Club, walk around the Boardwalk area, ride the Skyliner to the Caribbean Beach resort and take the bus from there to Disney Springs.

You can take a Disney Bus to Fort Wilderness, ride the boat to the Contemporary Resort and then Ride the Monorail around to the Grand Floridian and then take the Disney Bus back to Disney Springs.

You can grab an Uber to TTC, Resorts, Disney Springs and all the theme parks but MK.

You cannot ride a Disney bus from Disney Springs to the TTC or any theme park.

All Disney transportation, be it boat, bus, skyliner or monorail is free and open to everyone.

There was a thread a while back stating that Character Warehouse had been overtaken with huge lines of eBay resellers lining up before opening and wiping out most of the good stuff first thing in the day. I don't know if that's changed, but the consensus of the thread at the time is that CW really wasn't worth it under those circumstances.

I was never a fan of Downtown Disney / Disney Springs. I thought of it as a shopping mall and could take it or leave it. If we went to Disney for a week we might plan on a couple of hours on the day we left.

But after all of the renovations and so many new stores, restaurants, lounges etc it’s pretty great. My wife and I could easily spend a whole day especially if the weather is nice. With kids maybe less unless you plan some activity like maybe the Void or NBA experience. But even without those there are a lot of cool sights and sounds and snacks to keep them occupied for hours.

I was there 2 weeks ago and found a few things to buy (Christmas ornaments and a pair of ears). I'm sure there is some amount of reseller trafic but it's not like the store has bare shelves.
