How long after your first cruise should it take for Castaway Club membership info or whatever it is (shoreside survival guide is what DCL website says) to come? Does it always just arrive automatically or do we need to request it.

It comes automatically and it seemed like it took about a month. Unfortunately my CD was broken and I called twice for a replacement and it never came.

We sailed for the first time in 2001 and I never received anything!!! :confused3 We have sailed two times since then and still nothing. I called before this last cruise and got my CC #, but I didn't have any problems getting my CC gifts in my staterooms, so DCL knows that you are a CC member.

You either get it or don't. Mine came about a month or so and the cards were for my son and myself. DH got upset as he was the one paying for the trip and wanted his card. Spoke to DCL and after much ado about nothing, got the sup to condescend and send out his card. They are extremely stingy with them.
Now we have a dilemma. he lost the original and only has the one with void across it. He wants to call and get another. I told him we'll use mine on checkin.

We never got anything either, but our number must be registered somewhere because we always get invited to the party on board. Last December was the first time we ever checked in at the port, and we used the Castaway Club line. They did verify that we were members before they would check us in. It was great--the other line wound all the way back to the escalator (and we would have been at the very end) and there was no one else on the CC line!

We sailed in January and have not received anything. When I call, they always assure me that we're members, but I've not received anything from CC.

We sail DCL for the first time 4/1/06 THEN DH and I :love2: have a 20th ANN trip June 11, 06. We wont have time to get the early stuff/on-line ressie for things. BUT will we be in the system somehow?

Yes, their computer system knows. We never got anything, but when you call them, they will be able to tell you your number. Maybe you will get lucky and they will send stuff to you. Maybe after our 9/8 cruise they will send us stuff?? It really does not matter - we have a great vacation regardless!

We sailed in 2001 also and never recieved any cards. I called and they sent one to me. I assumed it was one number per family/stateroom at the time. Then when I went to make this years ressies, they all 4 of us have numbers (sequencial to the card I have). The card is not important, they can always look you up. Even the TA (costco) was able to add all our numbers to the ressie. I'm looking forward to the gift and party  . As long as I get the perks, I don't really need a card :) .

Whats funny is I don't even particularly care about the perks (although I'm sure I will appreciate the short check in line), I just want to get something from them in the mail again... I miss our cruise, hehe. And would just love to get another little brochure or something, anything to connect to it again. Is that wierd?

I so wished I'd listened to the person who said the biggest thing they wished they knew about their first Disney Cruise was to rebook onboard. Sigh... oh well. Waiting it out till 2007 rates/dates come out.

That's not weird at all. We cruised in May '05 and got our CC packet about a month later and the CD that came with it was wonderful! It comes with desktop images, a screen saver, and some cruise music, and we immediately put all of it on our computer. Now, whenever the computer screen saver comes on, we are reminded of our cruise all over again!
