How late to book the CR for President's Week?

Hi, we are planning to squeeze in another AP trip so we decided on the CR (will have to be wing room) for President's week 2006. We have never stayed there..heard both negative & positive things but I guess you have to try it yourself.

Anyway, I'd like to wait for the AP rates to come out before booking (because if they don't offer them or they don't come out) I know we cannot stay at the CR at rack rate.


Anyone know when the AP rate has come out for Feb? (the summer ones came out 2 months before the date of arrival)

Also would waiting for the AP & then booking be o.k. or since it's President's week will that be risking that there may not be any rooms available? Should I just book & then wait for AP? I am not totally "stuck" on the CR. Cr wings just offer the lowest rate of the deluxes. (we are 5 so we can't do Values & we are staying at POR in Oct so we want to try something else.)

Any advice from seasoned "peak season" people out there? Thanks!

I think this year the AP rates for Pres week came out in December. I think that's too late to book though. I would book now and then wait and see. If AP rates or codes don't come out, then change to a different resort.

I am going Pres. Week too and just booked YC yesterday. I will be hoping to apply an AP or code of some type too.
