How late of a check out?

Just wondering how "late" a "late checkout" is usually? Our flight home isn't until the evening and what we do that day will be determined by the late checkout.

If allowed, 1:00pm. It's up to housekeeping and you usually don't find out until that morning. They need to get the room ready for the next person. Not allowed at DVC resorts.

I'm hoping for one on June 3, at AoA-LM. We leave the resort at 12:30, and plan on just using the pool and having a leisurely breakfast before heading out. Hopefully we'll be able to get that late checkout as well!!!

Yup, they don't allow it at DVC resorts. I'm always so tired the day we check out! I can't ever get enough sleep.

Well that answers a question I had. We are renting DVC points and as luck would have it our outbound flight doesn't leave until 6pm, which means be ready for the Magic Express around 2:30-3:00pm. But it does give us until 1pm almost in the parks before having to wrap things up.

I assume we can just leave our luggage with the front desk after checkout and pick it up when it's time to catch the Magic Express??

You can do that or check your bags with RAC between 5 am and 1 pm, as long as you are at least three hours before your flight.

If your airline participates.

If not, you can check your bags with bell services.

I wouldn't count on a late check out. We were just at a value resort last month, resort was not at capacity at all, checked out mid-week, and my sister and her family were denied a late check out. Not even an extra hour. Really stunk since her daughter contracted a stomach virus or food poisoning during their stay, and was throwing up all morning. So they were trying to rush to pack, while tending to her needs. Total nightmare.

We were denied a late check out at the CR in January, and we were looking for about 20 minutes extra. We had hope it would be available, but alas it wasn't. The mousekeeper was waiting outside our door promptly at the check-out time...ready to clean our room. We were in such a rush that we actually forgot our laptop and didn't realize until we were driving away. She had it there waiting for us at the room.

Oh my! So glad you realized before you got all the way home!
