How Late for PS Times

Was wondering how late you can make a PS in the parks?

I THINK it is tied to how late the parks are open, and how many are reserved ahead of you. Now keep in mind, I have only ever made ONE ps, but did some research on the boards before I did. I will enjoy reading other responses because I have a trip coming up myself, and on the dining plan, I expect to make several

I called for the 3rd time on Friday for our June trip trying to make PS for anytime after 5:30 pm at LTT, 50's Prime Time, and Hollywood and Vine with no luck. The latest available was 4:00. Way to early for my southwest group's appetite. Apparently even after park hours were released, PS were not opened up. In searching some of the post history, some mention having more luck at 30 days. I'll keep trying once a week or so until our trip. We have a fairly large group (7 total) and long waits for seating can be brutal when they are hungry. If I have any success I'll be sure to post.

I was just thinking about making some dinner PS'a later in the evening and was wondering if say the park closes at 9pm, that I could make a PS close to that time.

We lingered about in WS in Epcot after Illuminations, and we noticed people were eating in France. We could see them through the windows. People may have been eating at other places, but we couldn't see.

On my last trip, we made a few PS's for restaurants that were close to closing. If the park closes at 9pm, make one for 8:45p.
