Seems the hours for some of the kids clubs run very late, how long did your kids really last.? Do they keep them really wound later in the evening and does it get crazy? What about the Glo party and Goofy's sleep over, they seem to start VERY late.

My daughter was in the Oceaneer's club and around 9:30-10:00 pm they settle them down on mats with fresh bath towels on them and they watch movies for the rest of the evening. They are relaxed and either watching Disney movies or asleep. It works out well in case you want to stay out late and "party". The kids are not wound up. We usually carried her back to the room and put her right to bed.

Being from the east coast, our kids (ages 10 and 8) never lasted past 9:30 - they were ready for bed. However, for the kids from the west coast, the evening was still young. So that is why you may see some kids ready to have some activity at 10 p.m. - it really isn't that late according to their little body clocks!:bounce: I think overall the counselors did a good job with the activity level late at night.

On our last cruise our DD went in one day after her breakfast, 9:30-10:00am, we could not get her to come out till 12:00am. She never wanted to leave. Everytime we would go to see if she would do something with us, she would start yelling "No, go away, I'm not ready to leave. I want to stay and play."

Let them stay as long as you can stand it.:D

Ginger,

Couldn't help but see Joe Nameth on your signature. He was on our cruise last year (June 16th - Magic). He was very nice and spoke to lots of people on the cruise. My husband never got a change to see him until he went for his massage on CC. He was next to Broadway Joe, so they have a picture together!

He's a great guy!

Hi Laurajean,
I am so jealous. My DH would not let me go on that cruise. I guess he feared for Joe. I've had crush on Joe Namath since I was 11 years old, 33 years is a long time. I have met him, but that was ages ago.

He is a special kind of guy. Thank you.:D

LOL, Ginger!! My DS sounds like your DD. :) I would pick him up at 1am, and he *still* didn't want to leave! Worked for me... he was happy, I got to live like a grownup for a week, so I was happy. :D

No offense to anyone, but I stopped by to look in the club around midnight one night (my son was not on this cruise with us) and I felt so sorry for the little kids that were still in the club. They looked so tired and everytime the door opened they were looking for mom or dad.

My son will probably go until 9:00 latest, but only if he wants to.

I have to say that we left our kids until 12:00 or 12:30 on several occasions. My son (9) was glad to do something with other kids. Always wanted to be there. My daughter (5) who is usually NOT willing to go to sleep loved (and asked) if she could go there and watch a movie and relax on the mats. When we would pick her up, she was often asleep or close to it. Keep in mind, the kids can ALWAYS ask to have Mom and Dad paged. And, it doesn't take much asking. I witnessed a child ask casually and there was NO hesitation...parents were paged.

Our first cruise Feb 2000...my kids didn't like the clubs at all. They were maybe in them for a total of 2 hours for the whole 4 days. This time, the 7 day....they loved them. They stayed in them almost every night til 12 or 1am!! One time, picking up my youngest......and she didn't even page...she was the last one in there...I felt so bad and apologized....but she assured me she loved being there and loved the counselors!!!

We never "forced" them to go either.....they had their choice and always picked the clubs. It was great to have that "adult" time.....our server in Rockin Bar D would even save us a table!!!:D :D

We were on the 3/23 Magic and my DDs stayed in the club til 9:30 or 10 most nights when they didn't join us for the shows. Early in the cruise, in particular, they were never ready to leave. Some nights I was exhausted and had to drag them out so we could all go to bed. By the end of the cruise, they were tired as well. I'm sure we could have left the kids longer and they would have willingly watched movies with the other kids, but we were too tired to stay out late...

I hear ya!!! We had to beg my daughter (4) to leave the club every day. She had met so many friends and loved meeting up with them there. There were plenty of times we dragged her out crying, promising her that she could go back after dinner.

My 8 year old son did not want to come out of the clubs, but my DD was out each night by 11. They loved the clubs; we were never paged. I had visions of a family vacation but after the first day, all my son wanted to do was be in the clubs!! :) None the less, we did not let him spend as much time in there as he would have liked. The clubs are wonderful, we're planning on a cruise again this summer and the kids can't wait.
