How late can I drop off a car at MCO?

I have an early morning flight on my last day at WDW. I was thinking of checking out of WDW a day early, going to MK until closing, driving to MCO to drop off the rental car, and then checking in to an airport area hotel.

Good idea? How late are the counters open at MCO? I suppose if it's a late night at MK this might be a problem. If so, how early do they open the next day?

The hours for your specific rental car company should be available on their Web site.

It would help to know the name of the rental company. It may be open 24 hours; it may not be. As Jestocost recommends, check their website. A rental company located in the airport is more likely to be available around the clock.

If you're using any on-airport rental car company, you should be able to return your car at any time, even if there are no employees in the return area. But, in that case, your return time for billing purposes would be when they reopen in the morning. (They then mail or email your final receipt to you.) Airport car rentals are usually billed in 24-hour increments, not calendar days. It's unlikely an early morning return would cost you more than a late night return unless you somehow rented your car at a very unusual time when no flights are arriving.

I'll be using Alamo or National. I've tried their websites and nothing about hours of operation. Tried a Google search too with negative results.
I did see that MCO is a "24 hr" airport but each company has its own operating hours.

If you look up the MCO location on the National Car Rental website (http://www.nationalcar.com/) the hours are "Sun-Sat: 12:00 am 11:59 pm." In other words, they're open 24 hours, 7 days.

Try your best to return the car when the return location is staffed.

Otherwise you are vulnerable to damage claims including if the car gets hit or scratched sitting there waiting for the office to open the next morning.
