How late before they cancel an ADR?

The first day we arrive at WDW I have an ADR made for Yak and Yeti at 5:30 pm but we might have some trouble arriving on time since our flight doesn't arrive in Orlando until 2:45 pm. By the time we collect our luggage, pick up our rental car, drive to the resort, check in, and travel to AK it might be cutting things a little fine:scared:.

I am wondering what kind of window does WDW allow for late arrivals to a restaurant before they cancel you altogether. I tried to get a later ressie but had no success.

They'll cancel it if you haven't arrived by 15 minutes past the reservation time.

Is Yak & Yeti on Open Table? I know there are some non-Disney owned restaurants that are, just not sure about that one. If so, you might be able to get a slightly later reservation so you wouldn't be as stressed - and not out any money if you miss it.

There is really no way you will make that ADR. If you are driving there, just getting from the parking lot, through security and entrance lines and walking to Y&Y will take you at least 45 minutes. That leaves you two hours to do all of the rest-pretty much impossible without a miracle and that is even if you arrive right on time. Yak & Yeti does take walk ups, although with Pandora opening that may change. I just don't see how you could make this.

First off have you ever picked up a car at MCO before if not do not count on a quick process at all.I predict that you will be late no matter what I would change resy time to later like 630 to 700 .
We have shown up to an ADR over an hour late our adr was still there(the no shows screen) but you are treated like a walk up.

As usual, I'd say do it. I don't have kids, but I think 45 minutes from parking to Y&Y at that time of day (should be no trouble at security), would just be a 15 minute walk. Its probably not a mile from parking to Y&Y and if a normal adult walks an average 15-20 minute mile, then that, liberally backs you to 5:00, and would give you 2:15 to get to the restaurant. You can checkin online and don't have to stop at your resort, just get your rental car, while your spouse gets the luggage, swing around and grab the spouse and off you go directly to AK. Seems easy peasy to me. If you drop the resort stop and include the 15 minute window, you've got 3 full hours to get from MCO to AK. Have a blast!

Our rule is not to make a reservation less than 4 hours after landing time.

Y&Y is a Landry's restaurant so if you join the Landry's Club you can walk up, show your Landry's card and you will be seated without a reservation. It costs $25 to join, but the $25 will be applied to your bill.

As far as being late, there is no official grace period. While most will allow 10 or 15 minutes after your reservation time, they might not depending on the venue, their policy, how busy it is at the time you arrive and how late you are. Your reservation could be honored, you could be considered a walk up or you could be turned away and charged the no show fee.

You've already got a stressful afternoon with picking up your bags yourself, renting a car, driving, and checking in. I wouldn't add the pressure of having to make an ADR within a park that early.

You could always check-in online and drive straight from MCO to AK but it's still cutting it close. What if your plane is late? Keep trying for a later ADR. :earsboy:

I would cancel the ADR and join the Landrys club as someone suggested. That way you won't be stressed out about trying to make your ADR time.

I got a Landrys card before our trip in January. The place was mobbed and the wait was 45 min. minimum. We waited no more than 10 minutes for a table.

With the Landrys card, you also get a $25 credit to use during your birthday month as well. I put my son's birthday which is in January, and we received the credit for our trip. I think you can technically pick any date. They don't check.

As always, I agree Amber. Barring a significant flight delay, you'll make that reservation with plenty of time to spare. Can something go wrong? Sure. Things can always go wrong. But you should have enough time to have a hiccup or two along the way.
