How large is the average Pick-A-Pearl?

I expect it will be small, but the pearl cage necklace I've picked for DD can hold "up to a 5.5mm pearl" while most other ones can hold a larger pearl (up to 7mm or 9mm). I've never done this or watched it (but I've heard the excitement from others in the store), so I'm not sure what to expect. It's just something I think we'll plan for DD while we are there this time around. Should I shop for the larger pearl cages or is 5.5mm big enough?

we had an 8 mm last trip and it was the largest of the day - also had twin 6's that trip. The other ones we've picked have average 7.5

Between 6 mm and 8 mm seems to be average, so I'd get a larger cage. But have fun! It's a cool experience. The employees are very high-energy.

They say the average is ummm 4.5 I think? But I've only seen that be pulled once... as twins.

Yeah - I don't think we've ever had anything as small as a 5.5 inch. I just pulled one out of a drawer (LOL) and it's 7.25. I compared it against the 2 we've had set as pendants, and they're slightly smaller, but I don't think they're as small as 5.5. I think our silver pearl is just over 6.

I think they said avg is like 6.5 or 6.75mm. I'm positive they said avg is 6.something.

The one DD picked is 7.25mm.

I have a 7.25 white with part of it silver and an 8mm white. DD picked a 7mm, its a beautiful silver/blue one.

I picked 2 oysters last year.. The first one had a beautiful 7.5mm pearl and the second oyster had TWINS!! 6.25mm twin pearls! I was very happy with my selection!

I would agree with 7mm. I did pick a pearl a few times--anywhere from 6.75 to 7.5. I don't recall seeing anything one with pearl less than 6 something

I have never had one below 6.75 mm, with 8.25 mm being the largest I have gotten.

As other posters have said I believe the average is 6-8mm. I did get one that was under 6mm years ago and and I was able to pick another pearl and keep them both.

Just watched the video of my daughter getting hers - the lady says average is 6 1/2.

6.5 - 7.5 mm is what we got. (Three different pearl) The others we saw were in that range too.

Have any of you purchased a pearl cage from epcot? Is the necklace included? We are hoping to let DD do this during our next trip.

Mine was 7.5 - I chose to have it mounted on a white gold setting. Not personally a fan of the cages. I have heard numerous times of people who bring cages having issues with the pearl being too large, I'd try to get a big one.

Get a bigger cage. Today I pulled 6 3/4, DM pulled 8 and DD pulled 7. Average is over 6.
