How is your Genie+ Experience?

That really stinks! So if you want to ride your are being forced to pay extra? What good is park admission if it doesn't include the rides? :confused3

Are you saying that the 1pm for RotR doesn't fill up in a minute or so? I know last year I tried to get a boarding time for that ride but I was always shot out and I had several days at HS but still wasn't able to get on this ride.

I would be willing to pay one time for Rat and RotR to try it at least once but after that I don't think so. Also I want to thank both of you for responding to me.

You can still ride for free with the virtual queue. I missed it at 7am at the beginning of the month but got it at 1pm, I think the 1 pm slot last longer and is easier to get.

My biggest wish is hoping they add ability to select a different window then just the one option they give you.

It does! For regular LL and for the individual. We were able to schedule around a nap, no problem. And we were able to book Remy in the morning for late at night, which I wasn’t sure was possible.

I have a question about Remy. We will be hopping to Epcot on one of our days, so we need to ride Remy later. I take it that BGs are out since they will all be gone by the time we get there. So paying the ILL$ is the only way we can ride it, correct?

ETA: What if I pay for the ILL$ at 7:00 a.m. and then I can't hop to Epcot due to park capacity?

How does LL work with park hopping? If you pay for it for a day at a certain park, you only get it at that one park, right? So if you hopped to a different park you would have to pay again for LL if you wanted it for the next park?

I just got back from a long trip. LOVED IT.

We spent $150ish for Genie+ for 3 people two days, Remy 2x and RR x 1. Genie+ is a real VIP line with no wait, not like the shorter FastPass lane. It was incredible to walk onto Millenium Falcon and Jungle Cruise, and all the midlevels in a day or two.

I was skeptical, but this works SO WELL with the hoppers. On days without Genie+, go to MK, ride the less popular rides, hop to Epcot, pay for Remy, get the whole experience.

The after hours for deluxe were practically empty. They just let us sit on Soarin'. Everything at MK was walk on except 7D that we tried.

We were able to book Remy at 2 or 3PM for 7 or 8 PM. ROTR was still showing paid spots at 10 or 11AM.

This sounds really ideal! I’d absolutely be willing to pay for a spot on ROTR without having to be up early frantically clicking my phone with the hope of getting a spot in line (former virtual cue experience). It sounds like your experience allowed for a lot more flexibility in riding and in your day, which was not as frequent in so many of my prior trips. Disney trips always involve a bit of schedule planning for sure, but it’s encouraging to hear that Genie + and after hours may allow for some more spontaneous fun - Thanks for sharing this!

In case no one else has answered this, you don't have to pay to ride Remy, but you do need to get a Boarding Group. You do NOT have to buy Genie+ to get a BG for Remy. The BGs are separate from G+.

However, the only other way to ride Remy is with ILL$, which, obviously, there's a charge for.

In short: Remy is available through Boarding Groups (no fee) or ILL$ (fee) only. No standby line at this time.

Thanks, still very confusing to me. It's tough to teach an old girl new tricks. LOL! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I kind of think this whole thing is just too much for me...it may not be as bad as I'm thinking it is but so far it seems very confusing.

You can not get a BG at 7 am if you don’t have a park reservation that day. If hopping, then you have to be in the park to try for the second set.

You can pay in the AM for a later slot. The IAS rides allow you choose the time. For hoppers, if paying, it won’t let you pay for a time before 2:00 pm.

For the GP+ rides, it did not allow us to choose a time other than first available. That was only for the ones like Remy and Frozen we considered.

Think of a BG as the stand by line for Remy. You have to sign up to use it…go on right at 7 am and unless you are there at a super busy time, you should get it.

If it is really important to ride, then it may be worth the extra money. But if you have multiple Epcot days scheduled you can try each time..or as others mentioned, if you hop there at 2:00 pm, you can try then too for the free option.

The second virtual queue is at 1pm, so you can’t hop to it. You have to have a Epcot morning park reservation. I tried to do the 1pm from HS and it said I was in the wrong park.

We just forked out the $7 for Remy, scheduled it exactly where it was convenient and walked on. LOVE IT. We were able to schedule it for much later than the first available.

You pay for it once for the day, no matter the parks. If you have a park hopper pass and want to schedule a LL in another park, you can do that when you're eligible for a 'next' pass. If hopping, the first LL you can get in the new park is as early as 2PM (due to the current hopping restrictions). Some reviews are saying people think the best way to use G+/LL is on a day of park hopping - to get the best value out of it. I guess that depends on how you do the parks! Hope this helps.

yes, as a frequent planner for others, this is game changing for first timers. Just pay your $15 first couple days, ride all the b level. On the other days ride the c level and pay for A level rides individually. Or buy the hard ticket event or rip drop/EMH and do A level then.

this is fantastic for last minute planning and it really creates a VIP option that wasn’t there before. No 90 day fast passes! No FP line full of APs who have ridden slinky dog 20 times.

I once paid the $50/ticket/day for the extra club level fastpasses. I’d take G+ any day.

I could have sworn I read 2:00 pm abs you could try as long as you were in the park.

But obviously not the case. Sorry for the misinformation

Maybe you could try at 2PM if you hopped at 2PM? I assumed they would all be gone by 2PM and it didn't work at 1PM from the wrong park.

We booked paid Remy around 2PM twice without issue, from the wrong park. I'm sure you could book much later than that. Everything but ROTR seemed available to pay all the time if it wasn't broken, and ROTR was available at 10 or 11AM when we looked a couple times. This was off peak weekday, to be fair.

Maybe that was it. They were still available and the girls had hopped to Epcot. We did t end up doing though so not sure if it went through.

We definitely could have paid for a later time. It just ended up not working out and it was not a priority for the group. I’ll be back in January so for me, I’ll do it then!

So if you sign up for the virtual que at 7am and get a slot, what is the earliest slot since Epcot does not open till 11am?

Epcot opened at 9:30 when we were there this week, with the early entry. Regular hours were 10:00 am.

Once you get a BG for Remy, and return when you're supposed to, any idea what the wait may be like if you want to do this all for free? So I guess I'll be getting up at 7:00 and hoping.

When I was there last week, it said 30 minute wait.
