How is WDW transportation from WL?

Hi all,

We are staying at WL for the first time. I am looking forward to the ferry ride to MK, but I am wondering about getting to the other parks. The Unofficial Guide refers to WL transportation as convoluted. Is this true?

We have experience with using WDW transportation at AKL (awesome), and the Epcot resorts (mixed experience).

We will have a car for the first part of our trip but are thinking of returning it when we check into WL (see other thread).

We had wonderful transportation during our Sept stay.

Convoluted? Not quite sure what they're talking about, but the majority of people I've spoken with lately have had no problems with WL transportation.

We just returned Saturday (01/15/05) after staying 4 nights at WL then 2 nights at the AKL. We have no complaints whatsoever with the transportation from either. Though I have to admit we waited a little longer for the AKL buses. Maybe it was just our timing, but I don't think we waited more than 5-8 minutes for any bus at the WL compared to 10-15 minutes waits at AKL. The wait for the boat was a little longer (10-20 minutes), but we loved taking the boats to Magic Kingdom and over to the Comtemporary to Chef Mickey's. Just make sure you get on the right boat if you go to Chef Mickey's (they have blue or green flags and we got on the wrong one and was almost late for our Chef Mickey's PS).

Another vote for no transportation problems when we visited in June 2004. The boat ride was "awesome" and we had no problems with the bus either. I didn't rent a car since this is a vacation where my duties as a chauffer ends at the airport parking lot - LOL! We found transportation to be fine for going to the parks, but we found using cabs going from resort to resort a LOT easier and faster rather than riding along bus routes.

I remember reading that they were trying out a bus from WL to MK, then that it was discontinued. So, there's no bus now right? Is there still a bus from WL to TTC?

The test run was delayed, no further word has been given. So, the bus still runs to the TTC.

Thank you for the super-speedy reply! That's fine with me, we would most likely have taken the boat to the MK every trip anyway!
