I'm trying to find out about the weather and things to do at Vero Beach in May. I plan on booking a trip there for my niece, spouse and 3 little ones ages 5,3, and 1. I would appreciate temperature/weather conditions info for that time of year and would you recommend a Deluxe Studio or a 1 bedroom villa?:listen:

I had a house near vero beach weather is nice beach waves can be rather large be careful of the little ones. If you are looking for something to do check out the sebastian chamber of commerce http://sebastianchamber.com/default.jsp

and vero beach is nice also just make a left out of your hotel and travel south for a few miles you will see the beach area nice playground pizza parlor and shops to walk and see if you are looking for a change i n food try Mulligans http://mulligansrestaurant.net/

We are going to VB in May as well. No idea about the weather, but the temperature should be relatively mild. It is well before the start of hurricane season and still a month or two before the heat gets really bad.

As for the lodgings, I would highly recommend the one bedroom. The extra space and the kitchen will be good for the number of people you mentioned. Otherwise it might be a bit tight in a studio.

Since VB isn't near the parks and such, you might find yourself spending more time in the room than normal. So the extra space might keep things from getting out of hand.

We went to Vero last May and the weather was great. Temps in the 80's. Rained a little bit two of the days, maybe 20 minutes in the late afternoon early evening. Live at the Jersey Shore so we did not find the waves rough, but it depends on your experience.

Were you able to get in the ocean or was it still a little chilly for that?

Yes we went into the ocean. It was nice temp wise. There was some seaweed stuff that was floating in the water most days, but my DH went in anyway. Nothing harmful just a little icky.

The weather should be nice but if you hit the week or so of love bugs, it can be a bear depending on how bad they are this year.
