Whats the going consensus on how rough in the body this is? Dizziness factor?

We both want to ride, but as I have gotten older , certain coasters have started to affect me.

Rode Incredicoaster several times last DL trip no issues.

Once had an issue on RR with slight dizziness and cannot do Mission Space Orange at all…..

No issues on any other coasters so far.

Sucks getting older

Velocicoaster is probably the most intense coaster Universal has. It's WAY more intense than Incredicoaster. However, it's really smooth so for me I didn't get a headache or feel dizzy. My dad said the same thing when he rode it for the first time last month.

In comparison, Rip Ride Rockit is very rough and you get rattled around more. That coaster gives me a headache afterwards. Same with Hulk, though it's not as bad as RRR.

It's pretty intense. Love it a lot, and never have trouble on coasters. But if they offered me an immediate reride, I might have had to pass. Would still go again later though. It's so dang fun.

OMG I loved Velocicoaster! But I don't have body pain issues. I don't enjoy Rip Ride Rocket or Rockin Roller Coaster. I don't like getting knocked around and battered on a roller coaster.

I thought Velocicoaster was a very smooth ride. And there's no overhead harness so you don't get knocked around into one. My head always just bounced back and forth between the restraint and it's not fun. I don't enjoy Rockin Roller Coaster because of that.

My sister rode Velocicoaster with me and she has chronic pain conditions. She was in pain afterwards but she thinks it was because she was so tense and felt like she was trying to prevent herself from falling out the entire time.

I actually felt like I was going to go flying out the first time I rode it. (It's just a lap/lower body restraint.) I didn't enjoy it very much because of that, but I knew it was just because I kept wondering if I would feel the pain when I flew out of the seat and landed on the concrete below. But the second time I rode it I made sure my restraint was really close to my body and I enjoyed it so much. I feel it is the best roller coaster I went on and I try every roller coaster at every theme park I go to at least once.

First: It's super fun and you should ride it if you decide it's wise for you.

But it should be understood that Velocicoaster is what the 'thoosies call a "hypercoaster"; it's a different class than anything at Disney. I'm not seeing an official message on the g-forces it sustains; Rock'n'Roller pulls 5 G, and a Reddit user measuring Velo on their apple watch recorded 4.13. It goes a top speed of 70 mph vs RnR's 57.

It's still so new that it's quite smooth. I felt much more beat up by RnR (and much MUCH more by Rip Ride Rockit). Also, although my memory of it is pretty much a blur, I feel like it focuses less on "let's make you go upside down in a giant loop," like Hulk, and more on fun barrel rolls, and I would think it would be less of a threat for dizziness or nausea than RRR or Hulk. Our party had no ill effects, even though my wife found Forbidden Journey to be forbidden by her stomach.

But it's the sort of coaster that riding several times in a row (if the queue made that possible) might lead to headaches just from the strain on your body.

I did Hulk many years ago, and needed a few minutes afterward to get over the “rush”.

I honestly never had any problems before I turned 45.

Rockin Roller Coaster at HS really did a number on me that year. I may have been nursing an inner ear infection during that trip, and that may have caused the issue. It was quite a surprise the level of light headedness I got that one ride.

Mission Space, is a combination of being enclosed and spun, not a good combination for many people. I have even had a bit of it on the carousels.

I have never done RRR at US. I really love the thrill coasters, just not willing to ruin the day over them…

I've always been pretty proud of how I never have any kind of problem. But this year at the state fair my daughter took me on the "you just go upside down in a big loop over and over again" and I barely made it off. I talked her into the ferris wheel next as a nice, quiet way to wind down—but barfed on that!

For real, consider popping a dramamine as a matter of course for Universal, since there are so many rides that rely heavily on simulated motion, the big kicker for Mission Space. They don't put you in the spin cycle as hard as it does, but they might have the same issue of "my eyes say I'm moving one way while my inner ear says different."

I survived two rides on Forbidden Journey, but I had a twinge of unease on the second ride. There's a moment that it lifts you up while tilting you on your back, and that seemed to be the key moment for me. But it's an awesome ride and a shame to miss.

Velocicoaster was a one per day ride for me unless the rides are spread apart. It got me fairly queasy when I rode it back to back but riding it once I was fine. It's a very smooth coaster but it's intense.

I went through a bout of situational vertigo about ten years ago. I was on the edge of the row at Soarin', and tried to look backward to watch the mechanism. As I was shifting my attention back to the screen one eye focused on the screen and the other just off the edge. My brain tried to pull the "something is wrong, barf!" ripcord, and I barely made it off. For the next few years, rides that used to be no trouble at all suddenly had me turning green.

I am the sort of stubborn jack*** who just keeps going until it goes away, and it did after a few years, but in the meantime I swore by popping a piece or two of ginger gum right before getting on the ride. Peppermints were also helpful, but not as much as the ginger. (I suspect the peppermint was the placebo effect, but since the whole thing was a learned response, that's good enough.)

If it is good enough for Mythbusters, it's good enough for me.

I have RA, am in my 50s, and have been known to get motion sickness, albeit rarely - Remy kills me for some reason, and if I’m hot, FoP makes me queasy. Rip Ride Rocket beats me up terribly, and my last ride on that was May ‘22 - never again! I’ve had zero issues with motion sickness or with pain after riding Velocicoaster. I absolutely love it and can’t wait to get on it again soon!

I would try the dramamine, but I would like to partake in the occasion adult beverage while touring….

I think I remember being a bit befuddled after a second in a row ride on forbidden journey as well…it was ten years back to hard to say.

Pretty much rode everything at DL and nothing bothered me at all. It maybe more in my head from the RnR experience than anything

Well, I second the suggestion of ginger. We brought some "Gin-Gin" chews which are pretty potent; it's not a very scientific study, but I had a few for fun and maybe that's why I did ok! Plus there are actual capsules with like powdered ginger; I think Brian was referring to the fact that they worked for the Mythbusters.

Often, alot of ”ride” nausea is psychological and anxiety induced. Occasionally its from medications or physical conditions.

So anything that help keep ones mind off it , placebo or not, is a good idea.

Took me 2 trips to get the new to try VC, but I'm SO glad I did. It's SOOOOO fun, and we all love it. I'm not a huge roller coaster person. After many trips, finally rode Hulk last year, and never ride RipRide any more. Usually skip RnRC at Disney, but it used to be fun. I think what gets me a lot are the ones that go backwards, like even Everest. VC doesn't do that, but that shooting up the loop is awesome, and it's still a smooth ride. the last roll over the water is the best.
I've also never ridden Mission space orange....don't think I ever will. I have also realized I can't do Forbidden Journey anymore, at least w/o trying some sort of nausea meds....It's such a fantastic ride, but it did me in totally last year, and I've decided just walking the queue is good enough.
Hope you can give it a go!

It's a great coaster! The front is the best and the smoothest. When you get to boarding there is a line against the wall for the front seat.

Hulk makes me feel like I'm going to black out for a second or two. And my head bangs back and forth on it. It basically hurts.

Velosicoster is so smooth, and I love that there is no harness above the hips. I also don't hold on at all, lol! I love this coster, it's the best coaster I've ever been on. But it is a little tougher on the body because I'm not holding on. I feel like I've worked out afterwards. And I feel like if I did it too many times in a row (max we've done is 3), I'd be sore.

It is very intense, but super smooth. Very fast. Unlike many coasters where there is some "downtime", this just goes from one intense aspect to another. But it is done very well and I don't feel like I've been thrown around like I do on Hulk or Rockin rollercoaster. I feel like I've been beaten up after Hulk and RnRC, but not after Velocicoaster.
The queue is also really fun.
