We are thinking of trying to eat at Tony's one day. My daughter loves Lady and the Tramp. Any opinions on Tony's? Would lunch or dinner be better? Any advice is welcome!

we eat there for dinner more out of tradition than anything. I love the atmosphere, and the food is just ok. its not bad, but its not great, but IMO MK as a whole park doesn't have the greatest TS restaurants anyway, so I say give it a try, we always do. :thumbsup2

If you can get reservations at Tony's around parade time - you'll have a PRIME viewing spot! :thumbsup2

I've eaten there twice and enjoyed it both times!! I always get the spaghetti with meatballs, but I sub the spaghetti for penne pasta because thats my personal preference. They also bring out yummy sauce and bread for an appetizer. I have ADR's for lunch time for our next trip in September, I hope I enjoy it just as much as dinner!!!

Have a great trip!!! :cool1:

I agree with this.

If your daughter loves Lady and the Tramp, you should probably try it at least once. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the ambience.

You will get many conflicting opinions on this. Many people do not like Tony's for whatever reason. :confused3 We have eaten there every trip since honeymoon in 1991, and we have never had bad service or food. :Pinkbounc I love Lady and the Tramp, too; that is why we ate at Tony's the very first time. Be sure to take a pic of the Lady and Tramp statue in the middle of the restaurant. I think the pesto sauce and bread is only served during the dinner meal; you have to request it at lunch.

Thanks everyone! I think we may give it a try if I can get ADRs. This is our first time with DD so we don't want to over schedule things so we are having a hard time picking what to do when and where to eat :confused3 Thanks for all the advice!

Tony's is the first Disney restaurant I ever visited. The first visit, everything was superb. Great food, great servers, everything. The second visit we had ok servers and ok food. Good. Would do again. But, there are many other restaurants I want to try, too. If you've never been I would definitely give it a try. :goodvibes

I am always baffled by some of the vehemently bad reviews this place gets. We ate here on our last day the last time we went. We didn't have an ADR and still had TS credits to use. The atmosphere is pleasant. We had an excellent waitress. And the food was good. I had one of the biggest salads I've ever seen! We would be eating there this time, but we've decided to try the Crystal Palace instead.

I think it may be what some people order. My mom and I ate there this past May. I'm the one that's usually easy to please, as I'll eat just about anything. My mom is a much pickier eater. At Tony's however we reversed roles. She had a house salad, veal t-bone, and apple cake whereas I had calamari, chicken florentine, and a hazlenut chocolate torte. Mom loved hers, but I didn't like anything I ordered. The calamari were really big, tough, and greasy with no taste, the chicken florentine was dry and tough, and the torte was also very dry and tasteless. My mom said the veal was the best she ever had and for the first time all trip cleaned her plate. I barely touched anything and went to Casey's to get me a hotdog afterwards.

Oh, I did love the atmosphere though!

Poor Tony's gets a bad rap sometimes but we LOVED it!

The atmosphere is great. We ate there for dinner last Oct (and again this October) I had the steak and my girls had the think crust pizza loved it.

The biggest complaint I read is that the spag & meatballs isn't that great yet its very expensive. So my advice is to avoid that.

We just ate at Tony's a couple weeks ago for lunch. It was great. Very quiet, nice, cute atmosphere. I got the veggie pasta which was tasty. The rest of my group got pizzas and enjoyed them (they were better than Mama Melrose which we ate at also this past trip.) The kids loved the spaghetti and kids pizza. We didn't get any bread/pesto appetizer so that must be only for dinner. We ate out in the windowed area right before the outside tables so we had more light then the other areas.

We have always enjoyed Tony's. When a lot of the other places to eat are packed, a lot of times you can still get in Tony's. I think it is because it is up front near the front gate and folks don't want to walk all the way back down Main Street.

For lunch on the menu they have breadsticks and tony's sauce for $2.49.

From the menu:
Garlic Breadsticks - with Tony's sauce $2.49

Does anyone know if this is the pesto and bread that you can ask for? Or is there now a charge for it.

Has anyone asked for the pesto and bread recently and got it without a charge? I know at Liberty Tree Tavern you can request the bread and honeybutter and they will bring it to you (this is lunch). There is no charge for the bread at LTT.

When we ate there for dinner the breadsticks were extra charge or could be ordered on the dining plan as an appetizer.

After reading everyone's posts, I think I'm going to try Tony's on our next trip. :thumbsup2 We've been to WDW 8 times, and we've never eaten here. I'm always looking for someplace new to try.........
