*How is This "Strategy"?

I have been going over my menus for our upcoming trip, and trying to decide which meals I should pay out-of-pocket.

We are there four days/three nights, giving us three of each type of credit. We are eating at Artist Point, LeCellier, and Citricos. Since two of our choices are worth 2 TS credits, I have been trying to figure out which I should pay OOP.

I came up with the following idea: At both of the Signature meals, I will use credits for only one of the two of us, paying OOP for the other. That way, we can share an appetizer and dessert, and each have our own entree.

It seems like this will work because we will avoid the excess food we often found when we've done the dining plan before.

This is probably an obvious solution, that only took me three trips with the dining plan to figure out! Are there any pitfalls I am missing?

This seems like a great idea- i had not thought of it either but will employ it myself if we do end up at a 2ts restaurant- So does the server just ring up each person seperately?

Excellent idea! That should both work OK and be legal by Disney rules. When you do it, be sure to ask if they will let you put the more expensive of the two meals on the DDP. (Or have the person handing in the DDP card be sure to order the more expensive meal.)
