Wondering in picking fast passes? (We've done this plenty of times before)

Today was the first day we could select passes. Even though I checked yesterday various times to make sure it didn't open up early. I was told the passes would be available at 8am in the East. So I was pretty surprised when I logged on at 7:15 am and was able to begin selecting fast passes.

Of course the "Flights" ride in Aviator was unavailable???

How is that possible?

The only thing I can think of is that people arriving a day or two before us grabbed all the passes for this ride??

Any other thoughts??

Thanks

Chris

I had the same issue. It's because when your 60 day window opens up you can book FPs for the whole duration of your trip. So if you have 5 day passes you can book all 5 days when your 60 days opens. I never did make it on any of the Pandora rides.

We had a seven night trip booked and I couldn't get a FOP FP until our 6th day for 3:45pm. I logged on exactly at 6am CST. I have no idea who is getting the morning fast passes. Next trip we are going ten days and I hope thst helps get one earlier in the day. It was a looooong day at Animal Kingdom in the rain waiting for 3:45, but we had to go in the morning too for reasons not worth getting into!

FP+ booking opens at 7 am. Unless AK is well into your trip, chances of getting FOP FP+ are slim to none. We learned this the hard way on our last trip when AK was planned for our second day. Next trip, we have it scheduled for day 5. People who arrive earlier than you already snagged all the FP+

Because as PP's have stated the window opens at 7am eastern. Not sure where you got the 8am info from.

You might find the FP FAQ helpful.

I think people danced around an answer without explaining it directly.

Let's say your trip starts November 1 and so your 60-day mark is September 2. And let's say you are trying to get FPs for Flight of Passage for November 1, your first park day. You're not competing ONLY against people who can make FPs for November 1 on Sept 2. You are competing against people who's vacation starts on October 31, and who could make FPs on Sept 1, and people who's vacation starts on October 30, and who could make FPs on August 31st, etc. etc.

Your opening day, Nov 1, is the second day for thousands of people, the third day for thousands of people, the fourth day for thousands of people, etc. So starting several days before you they came in like vultures and tore the meat of those FP bones!!

That's why you will have success later in your stay. If you are there for six days, at the time of your FP window opening, you are competing with many fewer people to get FPs on Nov 6 than you are on Nov 1.

Make sense?

(And as someone else noted, the window opens at 7, eastern, but that wouldn't have made a difference for Flight of Passage.)

Isn't 60 days out also right around Jersey Week? LOTS of folks making FPs.
