How are the crowds that week? We are thinking about going to WDW then..thanks

This is when we go every year. The crowds are lighter than normal, but with the candelight processional in Epcot and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, things have been picking up the last couple of years. The secret is out!! But it is a wonderfully festive (and cheaper) time to go.

This is our favorite week, too! We're doing the DCL cruise for the first 4 days of the week this year, then WDW for the last 3.

The weather is nice. Not too hot, not too cold. Crowds are pretty light. The parks close earlier than during the summer months, but that helps us to make it a little more relaxing than being on the go from sun up to sun down.

Don't tell too many other people, though. We don't like waiting in lines longer than 15 minutes!

The week after is light, but if you go the weekend right after thanksgiving then the parks are going to be crowded. Thanksgiving and New Years are my favorite time to go, even though the parks are a little more crowded I really like the atmosphere and the decorations. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It was great last year, and we're going back again this year. DD and I had our own boat on Splash Mtn, our own raft on Kali River Rapids, and the longest we waited was for Soarin, mid-afternoon. We walked right on everything! It was great.

Thanks we were thinking of going Nov 27-Dec 1...(mon-fri)...

Me too. I plan to drive down (from Tallahassee), on the morning of Monday, Nov. 27, and drive back home on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 2. It will be a solo visit for me this time.

Will be interesting to see how crowded it will be.

It's a great time to go. Keep in mind that the Magic Kingdom does get more crowded on the weekends with the locals. Also, they are scheduled to tape the Christmas parade the first weekend in December. Main Street is PACKED! The rest of the park is not that bad. If you are planning on hitting that park, I'd recommend grabbing the train at the Main Street Train Station and getting off either at Frontierland or Toontown. Much, much easier than trying to fight your way up the sidewalks or cutting through the stores going up or down Main Street. The parade taping is alot of standing around watching them film the same thing over and over again. The parade is broken into pieces and not shown all together. It's also very time consuming.

We've been that week I think 4 times, and it is fantastic. You get all of the holiday decor and events without the holiday crowds!

What days/ times are they planning on taping the parade?

It is our favorite week of the year! As mentioned the weekend after Thanksgiving is crowded, but by Sunday evening things get much better. The Christmas decorations are up, the holiday music is playing, and I've found people to be in better moods. At WDW the week after Thanksgiving really is the "most wonderful time of the year"!

We went the same week in 2005, but did not go to any parks until the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It was nice seeing all the decorations and the parades had a Christmas feeling to them. We went to the MK to watch Spectromagic on Wednesday, and Main Street was horrible! I believe that was also an EMH night so that may have contributed to the crowds. We didn't notice too many other crowds and used Fastpass when available.

We are planning on going back in 2008 but in September after Labor Day. We don't have kids, and we went in 1999 around the middle of September and enjoyed it very much.

went that time last year and will be there this time THIS year! it's wonderful. but isn't disney always wonderful? :confused3

This is great news!!! We are leaving the day after Thanksgiving-Wednesday.

Can't wait!!!

We too will be there November 22 - December 2. We are going to do Animal Kingdom for Thanksgiving (I thought this would be a fun memory for the kids - this will be one Thanksgiving dinner they don't forget), and then doing some non disney things and maybe Typhoon Lagoon if the weather permits. We are going to be in the parks November 27 - Dec 2. We are going to do MVMCP on November 30. I can't wait.

What day does the parade film?

Thanks :)

Few Years Back We Left from NYC after Thanksgiving dinner (like 6PM) drove down to WDW (made it by noon the next day) and stayed for the next week.

It was a great time to go!

Have fun.

Hopefully this year will be my eighth year there right after Thanksgiving, the beginning of the traditionally the slowest time of the year. It is great, wonderful weather, low crowds, value prices at the resorts and all the Christmas decorations and activities. The very best time of the year at WDW!!
