How is The Wave resturant?

We've eaten at the Wave a few times, and really like it. Food is good with some more interesting items and the service has been great every time. I'd recommend it.

we tried it once and it is now a must for each trip.

Wife swears by their Anti-oxidant Cocktail

Hi Mike,
Another vote for The Wave. :thumbsup2 I loved everything about it. Would be a nice way to take a break from the park and a quick trip on the monorail. I don't think you can go wrong if you decide to eat there. Have a great trip. :goodvibes

ok, I have asked this on other threads, and still didn't understand the answer:

that the heck is "sustainable" fish?

but my guess is that "sustainable" means fish raised on a fish farm (think "Living with the Land") as opposed to open water fishing where depletion/over fishing can be an issue. Maybe?

My Family ate at the Wave last month. I was pleasantly surprised!! A friend suggested it, so we tried it. The food was fantastic!! everything was so fresh. I do have to agree with above post, that the portions were small. my husban & I had the littleneck clams w/pasta & sauce (very good) my daughter had the kids pizza & ate all of it. I would suggest it, especially if at the MK that day. It also was a quiet atmosphere, we will return on our Dec trip.

from the Greenpeace website: In simple terms, a sustainable fishery is one whose practices can be maintained indefinitely without reducing the targeted species’ ability to maintain its population at healthy levels, and without adversely impacting on other species within the ecosystem – including humans – by removing their food source, accidentally killing them, or damaging their physical environment.

and we enjoyed the Wave last summer - we had breakfast and 2 dinners there. Yum!

I ate there 2 years ago and I made another ADR for my upcoming trip. It was not the best dinner I've ever had, but I didn't have any complaints and I liked it enough to go back.

Portions weren't small as I recall and I remember enjoying a trio of desserts....that was fun.

NOTE: The Wave is one of those dependable WDW
eateries. Dependably average. Never anything to jump
and scream about. The entrées are fairly price, but,
as many other WDW eateries, it is overrated for
quality, and thus overpriced for value. Service is spotty.

How many times have you eaten there?

I have eaten at the Wave for 3 times and every time it gets better. It's a must try especially the Today's Sustainable Fish - with edamame stew served with cilantro chutney. :cool1:

Absolutely LOVE the arctic char when that's the sustainable fish, I can't NOT order it when they have it LOL!:goodvibes

We also love their breakfast, this restaurant is a "must-do" whenever we're in WDW.

We loved dinner at The Wave in Oct 2009 - loved it so much we booked lunch here September 2010. The food in September was once again great, but the service was soooooo slow. There were huge convention groups and our waitress was very busy with them (for example, processing payment for each of the conventioners individually, while we waited and waited and waited, even though we had been seated first). We left without eating dessert (and I love the dessert trios). It took forever. Having said that, we would give it another try, especially for dinner, since I would imagine they don't give the conventioners the same priority at dinner time that they give at lunch time. Like pp, I had the sustainable fish of the day, and it was absolutely delish.

The Wave sounds lovely from what I've heard, but also Grand Floridian Cafe is an idea, or 1900 Park Fare if you want some great food and AWESOME characters! :thumbsup2 Also, I'm not sure if you want to eat at the Poly twice, but Kona Cafe is a personal favorite of my entire family. :cloud9: We have always had a great meal there. :) Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful meal! :goodvibes

This was really helpful- I have 1 more night left to figure out and I made an ADR for the Wave since we are staying at the CR.

I don't know what is going to wind up happening since I'm trying to be flexible (I'll have an 80 year old and a 7 year old with me). It's really difficult to plan and be flexible :lmao:
