How is the walk from townhouses at end of Magic Way?

I have reservations for the 6 of us (2 adults, 4 teens) at Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites (a suite with connecting 2 queen & sofa sleeper rooms). But...I would really rather stay in a townhouse. I know the walk is so easy from the Desert Inn, right across the street, but am wondering how long it would be from the townhouses I am seeing on vrbo that are at the end of Magic Way. That enters the DLR from the other side (not Harbor) so I think you need to pass through Downtown Disney. Ideally, I would prefer a place with more room, a kitchen, washer/dryer, etc. Thank you!

I stayed at a house up on Goodhue Ave back in mid-March (Goodhue is south of Ball road, north of Magic Way, and just west of Walnut). Walking to the parks were pretty easy; you could either cut through the DLH to get to DTD and then one to DLR or stay on Magic Way, head south on West Street until you get to the path that runs along the tram route and into DTD that route. We did both, but we tended to use the DTD path along the tram route in the morning and walk through DTD in the evening. It's worth noting that there are only crosswalks at Ball Road and Cerritos Ave to cross Walnut. I thought the walk was fine in the morning/day. It was little quiet and a bit "lonely" at night. The parking structure actually makes things seems kind of quiet and remote at night (because it's so big). I wouldn't recommend anyone walk back alone, but that's pretty much common sense in any city. It was pretty well lit along the main roads (Magic Way, Walnut), but somewhat more dimly lit on the side streets. There were a fair number of other guests walking back along the same route right after the parks closed, but it thinned out pretty quickly.

thank you, that's very helpful! I'm leaning toward sticking with the Desert Inn...
