How is the single rider line these days with FP plus

We will be heading to MK for one day during spring break while staying at Universal. Since we are off- property I will be scheduling rides at the 30-day point and hope to get our favorites in. We have no problem riding single rider for anything else that day. But I'm fearing that the single rider lines will be extra ling now due to the new FP system. Is this true?

Also, do I need a FP for the electrical parade? Is it not possible to walk up and stake out a spot anymore?

I'm not sure about single rider lines as I have yet to experience FP+, but from what I read on the DIS you do not need a FP+ to watch any parades or fireworks shows. The FP+ guarantee you a prime viewing location...you can still walk up and view the parade "standby"....

We used the single rider line for Everest and got on in less than 5min :) I heard Rock n Roller Coaster's single rider line is almost as long as standby though so we didn't try that one

There are no single rider lines at MK. There are only 3 in all of WDW: RnR at DHS, EE at AK and TT at Epcot.

As for the parades, you can find your own spots. They are just offering specific locations so that those that do not want to can have a set viewing location without having to stake out a spot.

Hmm... I know my boys have ridden Splash and maybe Space Mountain via single rider line. Maybe I'm thinking of Disneyland. Things are slightly different over there.

Sometimes they will yell down the line for single riders. I've been pulled onto Soarin that way, and I have see people pulled up on Space Mountain too. No dedicated line though.

Yep, I just looked it up. It is Disneyland I was thinking about. Yikes! That's going to change things quite a bit. We rely heavily on single rider every summer when we visit DLR. We haven't been to WDW in a few years, so the new FP plus will be interesting especially for a one day quick trip.

Sinle rider at Rock and Roller isn't t bad earlier in the day. Also, single rider at Test Track wait time is not bad -however whenever we visit WDW, our kids want to have at least one Test Track visit where you have all the options availabe while designing the ride vehicle. (so it is not a strategy to do test track without rope drop or FP+ at least once trip.

Here's another question: With the old fastpass system we would always pull fastpasses for the 3 of us, but often times I would chicken out and not ride the bigger coasters. My DS would use my fastpass to ride again when he was done with his ride. Can we still do this? We will have the rfid cards not magic bands. If I reserve Space Mountain for the 3 of us, but I don't ride, can my son use my rfid card to ride again?
