How is the pool at the Poly?

I just read a post where someone mentioned that the pool at the Poly is too small for a resort of its size & is crowded for that reason. I am disappointed to hear that since my 3 young kids will want to spend a lot of time in the pool. Does anyone agree/disagree?

Thanks! :flower: Violet

There is actually two pools there and the one that the kids would enjoy is a good size. There is a much smaller one in the middle of the resort complex

Agreed, except on the busiest of days the pools are not overcrowded.

The Poly does have 2 pools. There is a quiet pool, which is a decent size and rarely crowded. Not the best place to bring kids though since it is a basic rectangular pool, with no slides or anything, and lots of adults trying to be someplace quiet.

The second pool is the Volcano Pool and it rocks. It is not the biggest pool on property. But it is big enough. It has a great slide and a decent size zero-entry area. It is also by the beach.

Overall, the Poly's pool is not the best on property, but I'd say it's in the top 5.

I am looking forward to spending a lot of time at the Poly pool during our stay next month. We will be there on and around Easter Sunday, so I know it will be packed. I have stayed at GF, AKL, WL and BWI in the past year and all the "main" or themed pools have been crowded each time, assuming it is after about noon. The parks are busy, the hotels are busy, the restaurants are busy and the pools are busy! It is still fun, though. I recommend getting to the pool as early as possible if you want a choice of chairs princess:

We have staed at the Poly on numerous occasions and have never run into large crowds. The pools to me seems just to be a time killing, rest area, mid day thing. With 4 parks, most people don't spend the day there but oldsters. Families staying on site usually go to one of the on site water parks for awhole day and use the resort pool for a break area. Poly has two pools and the quiet one is hardly used in our experiences unless the main pool is getting treated, then its closed and the quiet pool fills up.

When we stayed at the Polynesian it was too cold to swim, so I never got to use the pool :sad1: It looked like it was a nice size, though. And how awesome would it be to sit in the pool and watch Wishes.

:sunny: Last year was the first time I utilized the DVC perk of pool-hopping and I took my three children to the Poly. It was great! I checked in when we first arrived to be sure the pool was not too crowded for "visitors", and they said no problem. There was a fair amount of people, but not so that you couldn't get a chair. We loved the Poly pool and plan to visit again.

p.s. We were there in early June.
