When this service initially started there were some bumps in the road. How is the service now? When did you recieve your luggage tags? I have received the WDW souvenir tags but not the Magic express ones yet and we leave in 5 weeks. Marilyn

I received my ME tags last week or maybe the week before and we leave next Saturday. So about three weeks out for me. From what I read on the transportation board it's getting a little better.

We received our luggage tags exactly one week before our departure. They arrived by Federal Express.

We left PHL on 6/28/05 on USAirways and took two voluntary bumps, so our arrival changed from 9:25 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Our luggage was in MCO before we were and we met the DME representative as scheduled. They are very visible at the airport – you can’t miss them! We left the airport in about 20 minutes and had only one other stop before reaching OKW. Our luggage was in our room in about 1.5 hours or so.

On our return, since we had an early flight – 7:30 a.m. – our pick-up time was 4:35 a.m. The bus was about 10 minutes late, which was not a problem. The driver was less than gracious to the passengers – hey, it was early for us, too! – but otherwise our return home was uneventful (except for miserable turbulence over the Carolinas, but Disney has no control over that!).

That's good to hear- I have been a little worried. Last year we had a towncar pick us up and take us back to the airport. That worked out great, but I thought this was a great way to save $$. :wizard:

I had changed my ressie on 6/24, I recieved my M.E. tags for my orig. res. but haven't recieved yet, for my new res. Today is probably the last day I can expect for them to come as i leave on Monday.

But they say it's no big deal if the tags don't come, and I'll be bringing my bags on board the bus anyway (one less thing to worry about).

Do they always pick you up three hours early for your flight? I know MCO is a busy airport, we fly into and out of there several times a year, but....we have a 6:30 AM flight to come home, are they going to pick us up at 3:30????

Update: FedEx just delivered my new M.E. packet for the new Res. around 1:15 this Afternoon.

Counting down the Hours!

Pretty much, yea around 3:30-3:45.

"local driver" responded to one of my posts a couple weeks ago, saying that drivers start to work as early as 2am to accomodate early flights. So 3:30 would be a safe bet.

I'm not too far ahead of you. My Flight leaves MCO @ 7:30, the flight is completely booked.

I'm expecting M.E. to pick me up around 4:30-4:45

We received our yellow luggage tags last Saturday. We leave on 7/14. I was worried about using this service, but after reading some posts, I feel better about it.

I'm pretty sure Disney was targeting 21 days before departure as the window for sending out the DME tags.

I loved DME and will definitely use it again if it's still free when I go back (I'm going back AFTER 2006 -- they've only guaranteed it as existing and free until the end of 2006).

Can't do it! Just booked a car with National and skipping DME! 3:30 departure would mean 2:00 wake up! I don't think so!
