How is the food at Mara in AKL?

Think of it like a little cake bite topped with a chocolate/coffee mousse covered in a soft chocolate shell. Sorry for the bad discription! Here's a recipe that might help explain it more.

We ate there for dinner and breakfast and we were not impressed with either meal

Just curious, what did you have? I admit that I haven't tried many things. Mostly I've stuck with the butternut squash soup, which I love.

We've always enjoyed our Mara meals and DH would probably jump through fire rings for their oatmeal cookies.

We ate there once a few years ago and were not impressed. My son had pizza and threw up several times that night. The rest of us never got sick and he was fine the next day.
I want to show my in-laws the resort and eat there and my son remembers getting sick after eating there and does not want to go.
I know many say they get upset stomachs there because of the spices, but I wonder if that is the case and not a dirty kitchen.

Does anyone know if The Mara has a cereal/fruit/yogurt station like the one that POR CS restaurant has where you can pick your cereal fruit etc and the server puts in a big cup for you? I love that for breakfast...

We really like Mara. My favourite was the chicken caesar salad, the chicken on it is SO good and it was the best I have had anywhere at WDW. We were not a fan of the soups as they were a bit sweet for us, but that is just our taste. The pizzas are yummy too.

We stayed at AKV this past September and ate breakfast or Lunch there almost every day. We like it a lot. Staff was extremely friendly and anything they recommended was bang on. We actually liked the food here more than Artist Point at SSR. The Shrimp, flatbreads, and everything we had were good. Zebra Domes were a bit too sweet for us though.

We love it! I have to get the butternut squash soup...it is sooooo yummy.That is a big reason we love their CL because they have food from boma and mara and they put the soup out each night.
