How is the buffet breakfast at Ale and Compass?

Can someone explain this to me. I read on the menu I thought it said you can have the buffet breakfast with an entrée from the menu. Is this correct and how is the overall offerings of the buffet itself?

The buffet looked good to me - I don't recall all that was there - but having an entree plus the buffet was just too much food for us so we just opted for the menu. The portions were reasonably good sized and I definitely would not have wanted any more food. I preferred when you could have either the buffet or menu items. I don't think the buffet has as much on it as it did in the past where you could get lots of different eggs and proteins but I still just can't see how you can eat an entree and the buffet. Just too much food. PS: the apple caramel french toast was really good as was the side sausage which I think they may make themselves.

I had the shrimp & grits and added on the buffet since it was only $7 more and included beverages. So the $7 surcharge got me a glass of juice, unsweetened iced tea, and some fresh fruit, yogurt, and trout dip from the buffet counter itself to add to my entree. Our seating was at the tail end of the breakfast service so I had the meal as brunch.

I ate at Ale and Compass a few weeks ago and as a PP has noted, ordered only the entree because having both sounded like too much food. I had the Chocolate Waffles which weren't great and were the totally wrong choice for me at the time (what can I say, I got sucked in at "chocolate"). As I walked out the buffet looked really good and having had some fruit and protein off of the buffet would have been perfect.

We went to the Christmas Day brunch at A&C and had an entree plus the buffet. I guess we misunderstood, because we thought that you *had* to get both...I even said to my H and to the waitress that it seemed like too much food, and she didn't volunteer that you could order one or the other (but I guess she'd want us to have a bigger bill, lol). Anyway, I got the blueberry pancakes (minus the bacon), my H got the french toast, and my D got the traditional american breakfast minus the sausage. I ended up giving half of my pancakes to my H because it was indeed too much food...but it tasted very good. We didn't take many items from the buffet...I remember eating a croissant and some fresh fruit, and my D had yogurt and strawberries. My H doesn't really remember what he ate off the buffet. In all, it was an excellent meal and we'd definitely eat there again...but we would ask to just order a la carte. :)

I've eaten the breakfast buffet at Ale & Compass multiple times. Its either entree, or buffet which includes one choice of entree. The buffet itself does not contain eggs, waffles, bacon, etc. Its a supplement to the entree included. On my last two trips I enjoyed the buffet much more than my actual entree. There are multiple types of fruit (bananas, berries, melon, apples) individual yogurts in tiny mason jars, croissants, mini-muffins, and other assorted parties and danish, oatmeal, biscuits & gravy, assorted meats & cheeses, bagels & english muffins (that you can ask to have toasted), and multiple spreads for the bread items.

I wanted to also mention that the buffet was also stocked very well. If something was looking light, it was promptly refilled!
