Can anyone tell me about the Kona cafe for breakfast? Any thoughts good or bad will be much appreciated!

Amazing! We love the pressed pot coffee, fruit plate, tonga toast, eggs benedict, Kahuna platter and the macadamia nut pineapple pancakes. This place rocks and we love to eat there as often as we can !

We agree. It's excellent and a must do for us each trip. We've never ordered the Big Kahuna or press pot but love all the other things Nicki mentioned.

We agree!
Definetly one of the best breakfasts in the "world"

Love the Tonga Toast and Press Pot of coffee! No better way to start your day.

You'll enjoy it alot.
I've been there on several occasions and have tried:
Tonga Toast
Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes
Big Kahuna

They were all excellent

The Kona Coffee French Press Pot is great! Make sure if there's any leftover, to ask for cups and you can take the rest with you...it's worth it.

Here are some pictures for you to drool over! These are not all from one trip :rotfl:

What is the Press Pot of Coffee?? MY DH is a coffee drinker (he lives at Starbucks). He would love a whole pot of coffee! LOL

It's wonderful, and after paying for all the buffets and expensive food on property it feels cheap too! Nice prices, nice choices, delicious food! One of our favorites.

the press pot is pictured above. Basically, hot water is poured on top of the fresh ground coffee and allowed to step for several minutes. You get a smooth but deeply flavored coffee. It is not that big of a pot, probably only about 4 cups.:coffee: We enjoyed it so much we had to buy a press pot for our house!

Yes it is wonderful but it is Kona coffee, not just the regular stuff...and boy is it the best! Boma offers it too but with a different coffee, stronger stuff

Love, love, love the macadamia nut pineapple pancakes. Got my ressie set for December just to get those darn pancakes!!!

And don't forget the Lilikoi juice! Good stuff!

But I miss the Pink Leilanis that used to be served there. Pureed strawberries and oj with a bit of grenadine. My DH made a batch just last weekend.

Hey bamatigger! We're from Alabama too and we love Kona. Just wanted to let you know that you can get grits too at Kona (good ones!). I didn't see them on the menu, might have just missed it. Anyway, we asked the waitress what we could replacde the potatoes with that come with some of the breakfasts and she said grits. Woohoo! Good news for a Southerner. Kona is our favorite breakfast at WDW. Great food and beautiful setting at Poly.

Another thumbs up for Kona breakfast!!:thumbsup2

My favorites are the Macadamia Nut Pancakes and the Press Pot Coffee. To die for!!!!!::yes::

I would say it is better than most other breakfasts we have had on property, but only average in the grand scheme of breakfasts. If you compare your breakfasts to, say, buffets or Denny's, you will find this to be far superior. If you are a regular brunch/breakfast person at better dining establishments, you will find this to be about on par. We personally found the service lacking on our two mornings there, (desk staff was great, server was slow), and the meal itself overly sugared (Tonga Toast), undercooked (bacon), and not the best quality (fruit was underripe). But the dearth of sit down breakfast options that are not buffets drove us there a couple times, and I would go again if I were staying at the Poly. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.

The Tonga Toast is great! :cool1: So are the Macadamia nut/ Pineapple pancakes!:rotfl2: The fruit bowl is also very good! :rotfl: :rotfl: We love the breakfast!:goodvibes It is a must do on most trips!
