How is the 3rd week of August...

We used to go towards the end of August every year, the crowds definitely dinish by the end of the month. For various reasons we have gone in July and in during the earlier weeks of August, and the crowds are about what one would expect for summer! ;)

We are headed down on the 19th this year, but I am thinking the parks may be crowded because the free dining will just be coming into effect. I hope it won't be too bad, but, hey, WE'RE GOING TO WDW! :cool1: :wizard:

We never wait in a line with a posted time more than 20 minutes (even then we usually skip it!) plus we always take relaxing afternoon breaks.

We have gone the last 2 years during the 3rd-4th week in August and found the crowds to be great!!! Have fun everyone who gets to go. I have to wait until Thanksgiving to go back.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed for low crowds during August! We will be at the CR from 8/18 - 8/27. This will be our first August trip ever and we are thrilled about the free DDP.

My BIL & SIL are going the week of the 13th because of free dining.

I'm in NC & we don't start school until August 28. They are both teachers & are only missing one day of their before school planning stuff.

Don't know if this post helps answer the OP any, except to say some southern states won't be back in school yet.

We're going Aug. 18-25. We went back in 2003 thae same time and the croweds werent that bad but with free dining and room only discounts who knows??

We'll be there the 13th-20th too. Can't wait. If its crowded~who cares I'll be in Disney!!!!

DH Hand I just decided to do a long weekend from the 15th-20th....but we are really having trouble finding a room!! We were trying to do a value, but can't find one that isn't booked for those dates! We went last year around this time, and the crowds were very thin!! So, hopefully it will be the same this year!!

Have a great trip everyone!! :sunny:

We are going to be there August 19 - 25 staying at the All Stars Sports. I can't wait. We haven't been in 10 years, since my triplets were born. They are now 8 1/2!

29 days and counting

:surfweb: DH :cool1: me :happytv: DS14 :cheer2: DD13
princess: DD8 pirate: DS8 princess: DD8

I will be there August 19-27. www.touringplans.com rates the crowds will be a '7', which is what they rated the crowds last year at that time, and it was not too bad at all.

We will be there 8/25 and I have a DD9..

We are getting there the 8/25 too!! DD is 10. We are staying at CSR.

8/17-22 here at All Star Sports with my friend. I didn't think crowds were bad back in 02 in early august (e-ride nights were awesome). I think we'll be fine. I'm just hoping the weather will be decent. I'm (unfortuantely) used to humidity so that won't be a problem.

We were there last year during the third week of August or maybe the 4th week. We got home the day before Katrina hit. This year we'll be there 8/15-19. Last year it wasn't bad really, but keep in mind I'm used to Six Flags Great America crowds and waiting over an hour for a "good" roller coaster is pretty standard. The only real wait we had was for Soarin and that was because we got there too late in the day to get a FP and had to standby. It was a very pleasant wait though, nice and cool in the a/c chatting from nice people from all over the world.

Is that a popular time to go?

I was torn between Sept and Aug.

I decided on Aug because its our anniversay and I thought that would be a nice to go.

I hope we do run into each other...

I am staying at CSR and You?

Sorry, Suzq9241, won't be seeing you at any of the DW resorts. We're proletariats: aka "offsiters". The Fountains will have the pleasure of our company this year.

Reading the boards, one would get the impression it was not popular given the heat, the rain, the threat of hurricanes (as a matter of fact, our first trip was right after Andrew), but August its for me. I just love melting Mickey bars. :lmao:

If you're going to Millionaire, though, I'm sure we'll be there all day on the 18th and 19th. DB and DSIL are fanatics for the attraction. I think I'll have to keep some smelling salts available for their last ever visit there. So just look for the couple sprawled out on the walkway that evening and you'll find me tending to them. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It is popular.... Huh...

We did a mid-late August trip 2 yrs ago - fantastic!
We did a late July trip last year - ugh! BUSY! I had no idea how nice and quiet August was until I compared it to July!

You'll be FINE in August!
I wish I could go again this year :guilty:
