How is Teppan Edo?

Ideally would like to get Via Napoli, however nothing has come up at this point.. we do have a ressie for Teppan Edo. How did you like it? Good option for newbies?

The food is good, the experience is fun. It's similar to hibachi places we have where I live (Twin Cities).

My sister had a dinner at Teppan Edo in septembre 2014 and she said it was good but not enough food.

The food was just OK. The rice wasn't my favorite (I think it's a beef rice). My chicken was dry. But the show was good, it was nice sitting with others at dinner, and overall it was a good experience. Something we won't do regularly as I think the hibachi place we go to in our town is better.

We tried it for the first time in May and we loved it. We will be returning again to dine there is a few weeks.

Our take is similar to lots of others I have seen - good food and fun experience, but we love the hibachi place at home and prefer it...as such, we'd rather go elsewhere at WDW to get an atmosphere we won't get anywhere at home. Doesn't make Teppan Edo bad, though. If you don't have something comparable at home, or if you've just never been to it, then I'd say go for it. Regardless of location, the hibachi thing is pretty fun and provides some built-in entertainment.

One of my favorite restaurants in WDW and always on our list of ressies. I'd say go for it and if you don't like it then you know for the future.

Food and experience are good, but no different than any hibachi place you can get at home.

It's very good. But why do you think you need a reservation for Via Napoli? I've eaten in there maybe 50 times and have never had one.

Unfortunately, because OP is going during free dining it would be best to try and get a ressie for Via Napoli, that is if they can even get one at this point.

on the day's we're going, there is no free dining available to us! not sure if that would make a difference. I've heard of walk ups, but I'd like to have a ressie for something haha!

My point was you are going during a busier time of the year and I don't know the exact dates for free dining but it's usually around that time. I'd suggest making sure you have a ressie for wherever you would like to eat or can get one. It's not going to be easy to just walk up as some PP have suggested, because they have more than likely gotten lucky with being able to just walk up esp to a place like Via Napoli.
Best of luck OP. :)

It is great if you don't have a good hibachi place at home. If you eat hibachi regularly, you will notice that they don't do the fire tricks that you are most likely used to, and they serve noodles instead of fried rice (which might be a positive or a negative, depending on your preference).

I thought I was the only one who didn't like Teppan Edo. I thought it just OK, bland food and OK "show"! We won't go back...

We were here last month and loved it! The food was very good quality and they gave us a lot. We ordered salads because the meals don't come with the soup or salad like most hibachi places and I had read that the portions were not large here. 1 salad would have been enough for all of us to share and we all had quite a bit of food left over. We were served both rice and noodles. The servers here are super nice and attentive as well. We all love Via Napoli, it's one of our favorites, but if we couldn't get in there we would not mind returning to Teppan Edo at all.

We went to Teppan Edo last week for the first time. We loved it, had the filet mignon which was like butter. They gave you ALOT of food.

I was coming to say this exactly. We were there last Sunday and even though we have hibachi places at home that we like they all pale in comparison to Teppan Edo.

We went last year. The food was really good, but me and my wife both thought it wasn't enough food. Some recent posts say it was plenty food, so maybe they've changed.
