How is parking at Midway in Chicago?

I have flown out of O'hare several times but will be going out of Midway this trip. I assume there will be lots to leave our car for the week? Any suggestions on where to park or with whom? Thanks.

Last time I left my car at midway for an extended period it was $9/day at the economy lot. They have shuttle buses to the terminal. The only problem is if you are flying in at a peak time you may have to wait for a bus with space (try to go to the first shuttle stop if it's crowded). This lot is on 55th north of the airport and west of cicero. There are more expensive options closer and this one is probably more than $9 by now. I don't know about privately owned off site parking.

I am a big fan of Midway Parksavers, an offsite lot that is right across the street from the Orange Line train station. The shuttle buses are a major cattle call, but you can just walk from Parksavers to the terminal...no shuttle needed! The only downside is that some of their spots are small, at least for my big ol' Aztek. ATA has a coupon on their website for a free day of parking at that lot. We use them an average of twice a month.

Hi,

I fly out of Midway more frequently than O'Hare and I've always parked in the economy lot. I do agree dkostel that busses tend to be crowded during peak times, but I've never had to wait more than a couple of mins. for one during peak times. I have had to wait a bit for a bus when I've traveled at off-peak times. I've never tried off-site parking, but I'm considering it for this trip because it would be cheaper and our flight leaves at 6:50a.m. :o and I don't really want to be waiting for a bus at 5:00 a.m.

Here's another vote for Midway Parksavers. At one time they were a lot cheaper than the regular lots although I've heard they raised their prices.

I've used them several times with no problems.

We will be arriving on sat. May 1st around11:30am and coming back around 11:30 pm sat night the 8th. I guess the only concern will be arriving on sat. I think we will arrive a little earlier than normal in case we get turned around down there. Are there any good places in the airport to eat lunch? Thanks for all the help so far.

Sure, right after going through security there are plenty of spots to eat. You can go to Harry Carry's, Potbelly's (good sandwiches) or even get a world famous Billy Goat Cheesburger. Other "food court" style choices are available.

There is also a chinese place, Lalo's (yummy Mexican food), and Ben & Jerry's, as well as Gold Coast Hot Dogs, a pizza place, and Pegasus Express in the food court (and also the other places mentioned previously). Farther into the airport (I think by the B gates) is Let Them Eat Cake, McDonald's, and a couple of other places.
